Maria Shendrick Frank

Profile
I grew up in the former Soviet Union, primarily Russia and Latvia, and moved to the U.S. with my immidiate family when I was ten years old. I lived in North Carolina for many years and got my Bachelor's Degrees in Anthropology and International Studies from UNC, Chapel Hill and my Paralegal education from Duke University. I then moved to Charleston, South Carolina for a couple of years to pursue a career as a paralegal. Most recently, I got married and moved to Champaign, Illinois with my husband. In my free time I enjoy making pottery, live music, dancing, cooking, swimming, and keeping up with the news around the globe. I feel that speaking two languages fluently provides me with a broader view and different perspectives of what is going on in the world, and I love that I can help provide some of these perspectives to others through Watching America.
