I was born in Lund, Sweden, in 1976 and spent my childhood in Arlöv, a small town just outside Malmö, one of the largest cities in Sweden. In 1991, I moved with my parents to Malmö, where I live to this day. My love for the English language started with the contact my parents had with some British friends, and the trips to England that followed from that. Like all Swedish children, I studied English in school from the age of 9, and supplemented that with reading lots of books in English. At the age of 17, I won a huge English-Swedish dictionary in an English vocabulary contest, which made it easier for me to pursue my interest in the English language. For the last few years, I've been translating all sorts of Swedish news articles and entertaining anecdotes for an American friend, and sometimes even been trusted to proofread her scientific papers (if you can believe that). Now I take my first step towards a more serious (ultimately perhaps even professional) attitude towards translating.
