The Americans Bombed the Pakistanis

For Americans, Northern Pakistan is the abode of the Taliban and Al Qaeda. This is why the Americans are not interested in Pakistan’s objection and why they haven’t even asked for the permission to attack. During last week’s raid 20 people lost their lives, including women and children. On Friday, U.S. planes attacked a village building. 12 people were killed.

On Thursday, “The New York Times,” revealed that in July, President Bush accepted a military plan of attack in Pakistan without first consulting with Islamabad. Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Ashfaq Kayani quickly replied that “sovereignty and territorial integrity are going to be guarded under all circumstances and no foreign power will carry out its operations…in Pakistan.”

Yet, the USA most clearly does not care about the opinion of Islamabad because the White House considers the Waziristan province a “hornet’s nest” [of Al Qaeda and the Taliban]. The Northwest region is home to numerous Taliban and Al Qaeda bases, from which many of the soldiers attack neighboring Afghanistan and NATO forces.

Today, American planes attacked one of the villages in the northern section of Waziristan near the border. Twelve lives were lost under the rubble of a bombed building.

Earlier last week, American commandos raided another village in Wazaristan. Twenty people were killed, among these were women and children, say Pakistani officials. Attacks are to follow in a couple more days.
