Bush Bragged:”Shoe Bombs” Prove Iraq Marching to Freedom

An Iraai reporter threw shoes at U.S. President George W. Bush in Iraq and it has caused a global uproar. Bush was interviewed the day before yesterday and he said that during that time his mind was blank, just thinking about how to avoid the shoes. He added that the Government of Iraq should not react too much, as this matter shows Iraq is beginning to progress into a free society.

According to compiled reports by Wen-wei Po in Hong Kong, CNN interviewed Bush the day before yesterday and asked how he was feeling about having shows thrown at him in Iraq. He said that he did not have any time to think at the moment, but only to lower his head and avoid them. He further commented that this reflects Iraq moving into a free society and that, this incident is also an interesting way in which locals express their views. So the local government did not need to worry too much about it.

When it came to the war in Iraq, Bush said this is the most difficult decision he made during his term. He had been advised to withdraw the troops, but in the end he decided to let the troops stay. He said that, at the thought of the soldiers killed in Iraq, if he decided to withdrew the troops, he would not be able to face the families of the soldiers and himself.

On the 14th of this month, at a news conference, the reporter who threw shoes at Bush, Zai-Di, appeared the day before at the local Magistrates Court and admitted to throwing the shoes at Bush. It has been reported that the authority may accuse him of committing “the crime of violation against heads of state,” and may sentence him to imprisonment of 7-15 years.

Zai-Di’s brother said the day before that Zai-Di had been beaten by security personnel in the chaos and suffered multiple injuries and that he needed hospital treatment. U.S. State Department spokesman said that any improper violence against Zai-Di would be condemned.
