Syria Removed from Travel Watch List

The U.S State Department‏ decided to remove Syria from the travel warning list.

This seems like an internal American issue, but since countries are being classified because of different political views, even lists based on scientific, social or statistical bases are being politicized. The most recent proof is that Syrians are considered among those that need to be strictly and thoroughly inspected, even scanned, when coming to the States.

Our proof that this is a politicized issue is that ‏no Syrian citizens ever practiced terrorism in the U.S. or out of it, especially those who went directly to the United States and are considered citizens. Setting aside how dangerous and prejudiced this practice is, the fact that Syrians were involved in this classification is a political issue.

Our second proof is that yesterday, the Unites States removed Syria from the warning list. Americans were never attacked in Syria, ever, and the United States knows that Syria is a safe and secure country. Syria will not allow any harm to a resident or a visitor. The United States did not forget the strict Syrian position in protecting the American embassy in Damascus when it was attacked. We did not allow not even one American to be harmed.

‏The new adjusted American position leading to removing Syria from the ‏travel warning list proves with no doubt that the previous position was politicized and that Syria is a safe country.

This is an American recognition shared by most of the world, which puts Syria at the forefront of countries that apply strict security measures to protect individuals, and the property of its residents and visitors.

Syria will not accept anyone being attacked or harmed, and will not harbor a terrorist; this is the international vision realized after dealing and exchanging with Syria.

Our cause is our occupied land, our usurped rights; those need to be restored fully and definitely.

Tranquility and security are facts in our lives, but we are missing peace because our land is occupied.

Our stance is our principle.

It is what Mr. President Bashar Al-Assad confirmed to Mr. Francois Fillon and is always confirming; it is a stance that calls for just and comprehensive peace based on international resolutions.

This is the stance all visitors to Syria hear; all of them confirm Syria’s crucial role, as Mr. Fillon said. Those are the guests of a country that is safe and secure… and the peace that must become a reality.
