Trump: Manipulation and Popularity

The president of the United States is profiting from his strategy of propaganda and agitation. According to a survey by The Wall Street Journal and NBC, his approval rating is now at 45 percent, 1 percent more than it was in June. It’s a very high figure for this point in his term. And it contrasts with the erosion of his image in the international arena and the succession of scandals that plague him, from “Russiagate,” to the tirades he threw with regard to American Intelligence during his latest press conference with Vladimir Putin.

Trump has turned demagoguery and manipulation into a way of survival in politics. Currently, it seems that he is gaining ground among the electorate, though in doing so he is distorting reality, overthrowing consensus, and destroying the prestige of his position.
