The Memoir of Donald Trump’s Niece Soon To Be Released: ‘So He Let My Father Die’

The biography of Mary Trump, the daughter of the president’s late brother Fred Trump Jr., an alcoholic, is set to be released in August. Among Mary’s revelations lies a tax scandal, which she herself helped to expose.

The book, entitled “Too Much and Never Enough,” is set to be released this August by the publisher Simon & Schuster. Its author, Mary Trump, a 55-year-old psychologist, is the niece of the U.S. president, or rather, the daughter of his alcoholic brother, Fred Trump Jr. whom Donald Trump has at times cited as a reason for his decision to be a teetotaler. The book is a memoir, written in the first person and, therefore, autobiographical. However, it has already been announced that it will contain lots of “harrowing and salacious” details, in the words of The Daily Beast, the site that initially broke the news about the president’s life.

A crucial chapter will be dedicated to when, in 2018, Donald’s highly informed niece Mary was the “mole” who allowed The New York Times to uncover various details regarding tax loopholes put in place by Donald, and to prove that his race to the White House had been financed by his father, Fred Trump Sr., who gave Donald $400 million. It’s the first time that Mary has distinctly spoken about this event and her role as a confidential source. Based on what has been leaked, another “detail regarding the family” will appear in the book: this will consist of conversations with Donald’s sister and Mary’s aunt, former U.S. District Judge Maryanne Trump Barry. She is, in private, extremely critical of her brother as a public figure.

However, the most agonizing parts and perhaps those most likely to cause problems for the U.S. president might be the pages dedicated to Fred Jr., the weak firstborn who died in 1981 at the age of 42 from a heart attack, attributed by doctors to his alcoholism.* The memoir talks extensively about Fred Jr.’s problem with alcohol: according to yesterday’s news leaks, the allegations against Fred Sr. and Donald for not having helped Fred Jr. for a long time, and for contributing to his death, are clear and direct. In a 2019 interview with The Washington Post, Donald admits that he put a lot of pressure on his brother to pursue the family businesses, despite not having any desire or inclination to do so.

In short, between family matters, tax returns and dirty laundry aired in public, “Too Much and Never Enough” looks set to cause much confusion in Washington. “My uncle should be ashamed” was, as of yet, the only thing uttered by Mary in an interview about Donald and it seems to foreshadow the tone of the entire memoir. As for the release date, it will be available in bookshops beginning Aug. 11, the eve of the Republican National Convention.

Editor’s note: Although accurately translated, Mary Trump’s remarks about Fred Jr. presumed to have been made in her book could not be independently verified as the book was unavailable.
