True, [Barack] has not actually been elected, but... Ordinary Europeans won't fret over these details. They will cheer "Change" and Mr. Obama regardless.
Many are the reasons for the bumpiness, but principal among them has been, and remains, the very bad governance of the United States.
That the U.S., Britain and their allies have presided over the killing of perhaps just as many Iraqis, even if unwittingly, is something most Americans don't want to think about. But much of the world does.
The numbers are in. Compared to the U.S., we work less, live longer, enjoy better health and have more sex. And get this: now we're wealthier too.
