Reading through the clauses of these Hong Kong-related bills, several main features stand out: first is the necessary mentioning of 'human rights,' 'democracy' and 'freedom,' giving people the false impression that the U.S. is very concerned about the people of Hong Kong.
The U.S. has made a rash judgment about its role in Hong Kong ... exposing Washington’s desire to to make the battle for Hong Kong another round in its chess game against China.
Given that the sovereignty of Hong Kong belongs to China ... the United States, in passing the “Hong Kong Autonomy Act” has really engaged in an exercise in futility.
Anti-China and anti-communist groups in the U.S. should also realize that their efforts to turn Hong Kong into a pivot in order to infiltrate, subvert and contain China is doomed to fail.
