Rapper Kanye West Throws Down the Gauntlet to Trump and Biden

American rapper Kanye West has stated more than once that he is going to storm the White House, but his presidential ambitions have always been taken lightly. Now, however, in the wake of the ongoing Black Lives Matter movement, West suddenly has the chance to actually make his mark on an election campaign.

West has received strong support from his fans, his wife, actress and reality TV star Kim Kardashian, as well as recent “American hero” and businessman, Elon Musk. On the day of the deadline to do so, West submitted the required documents and registered as an independent candidate. He indicated that he will represent the Birthday Party. That means that in at least one state, Oklahoma, where the registration took place, his name will be included on the ballot.

West held his first campaign event on July 18, in South Carolina. The many participants wore masks and strived to maintain the required social distance.

Until recently, West has supported the current president of the United States. He has even worn a cap bearing Trump’s campaign slogan and visited the White House more than once. And now the rapper has announced that he refuses to support Trump.

But that is just rhetoric. In fact, West has not yet entered into any controversy with the president, more willingly targeting the Democratic candidate, Joe Biden, with his gibes. Rumor has it that the rapper’s entrance into the race is just a part of the White House’s multifaceted effort to win. As an “independent candidate,” West may win over some of Biden’s voters, and then refuse to further participate in the election in favor of Trump.

In addition, it is well known that West suffers from bipolar disorder (a psychological condition that causes extreme mood swings, from mania to depression, up to several times a year).

Quite the cheerful crowd of presidential candidates has gathered in the United States: Trump and Biden intermittently call each other crazy, (both, frankly, have given reasons for this) and now they are joined by a third participant, for whom psychosis is the norm.
