American Elites Have Strayed from the Truth

Western, especially American, political spheres have lost the most basic pursuit of truth. Their elites’ descriptions of China have strayed further and further from reality, and American political disputes have reached a new low — people are willing to create ridiculous lies for the purpose of politics. American society has accepted this kind of behavior from their political parties and political opinion has consciously or unconsciously conformed to that of political elites.

Chinese and Western political systems are different, and there are also differences in the social organization of the two. China, however, is undoubtedly a country that effectively promotes economic and social development and has successfully improved the lives of its citizens. China has also been proactive in cooperating with Western countries and has never tried to destroy Western political systems for the purpose of its own international expansion. The only reason the U.S. has felt so threatened by China is the fact that China has been developing so rapidly. This kind of change is not something China has carried out maliciously, it is simply an economic condition every country experiences when developing.

One especially important point to note is that China is aware of the U.S.’s discomfort and has actively tried to alleviate tensions. China is against picking fights because of issues pertaining to a country’s development.

Let’s take a look at how the American administration and elites have defamed China. They have carried out extremely vicious attacks on the Chinese Communist Party — which has led China forward and advocated for friendly global cooperation — and described China as an “evil force” that has disturbed the world order. They define China’s normal competition with other countries such as the United States as subversive hostility and label China’s scientific and technological power and overseas students as part of China’s national intelligence system.

No country’s human rights are perfect, whether it is China or the U.S., but China is an active advocate of human rights. China will not purposefully harm a certain minority group or give political preference to any group — that’s not in line with China’s basic principles. China has taken the necessary measures to protect the national order and the U.S. has done the same. Just as the U.S. does not understand some of China’s actions, China does not understand many of the actions taken under the American system.

The U.S. and Western elites’ characterization of China’s governance is completely subjective, arrogant and often vicious. Those characterizations stray far from reality and have become a way for the U.S. to use its political hegemony. Their logic is no longer in accordance with reality, but is instead “whatever I say is true.” The U.S. has deceived the Western world by marketing their anti-China slogans with brute force.

How can there be a country in our modern world that has taken part in globalization, remained open to the outside world, integrates economically with the world, produces Hollywood movies that are played all over the globe, has many residents who go abroad, and yet has been distorted to portray serious violations of basic human rights as the price of governance? The operation of the entire country runs counter to the common values of mankind — how bizarre! A sophisticated and malicious design went into building the “evil empire” that is supported by American and other Western elites.

Whenever there is any space in society for political rationality to play a role, people will question if this sort of description is absurd and question what serious mistakes have been made. Washington has used malicious deception to hinder its people’s judgment. Now a country that has killed over 210,000 people due to the COVID-19 curses the country that has successfully controlled the pandemic, and the former claims that all its problems were caused by the latter. What else can support such ridiculous logic besides deception?

Finding a country to blame for the current pandemic has severely impacted the world’s ability to fight the pandemic. This pandemic has truly put the Chinese government to the test in its ability to take responsibility for the health of its citizens, and it has proven to perform as one of the best in the world. Using this as an example, we can determine whether or not what the U.S. and other Western countries say about China is true.

If the United States cannot restore the minimum spirit of seeking truth from facts, the decline of this country is bound to happen. Because it is afraid of facing the facts, it can only rely on lies to cover up some of its emerging comparative disadvantages. Such a country cannot carry out effective reforms, and will only follow the trend with its own problems. Knowing the shame and then being brave, we give this well-known truth to the American and Western elites.
