What’s Happening in Iraq Is All Part of America’s Strategy

The current course of events in Iraq has compelled our people to consider America responsible, both morally and politically, for entrusting the political process to parties that prevent our country from regaining the well-being that it lost decades ago. It did not become a country for all after the overthrow of the dictatorial regime in the spring of 2003, contrary to what the people wanted. Under the auspices of the American flag, our country and people suffered much social strife, in which groups opposed to coexistence with Christians and Mandaeans waged war on them, plundered their property and cut off livelihoods inherited from fathers and grandfathers in an effort to erase all trace of their existence from Central and Southern Iraq. Many of these people were forced to migrate to safer regions both inside and outside the country, and are no longer considered natives of the land of Mesopotamia, while some of the parties and forces brought in by the American occupiers considered them dangerous sects. It is well-known that at the time, it was not Islamic State that was present in those areas, but the parties holding legislative seats and those aspiring to them who considered these denominations unwanted among our ranks, despite their friendly and amicable coexistence with all other sections of our people since ancient times.

The ruling parties took advantage of their control over the Iraqi Council of Representatives (obtained fraudulently, according to some of their testimony and by America’s own admission) to disseminate information and ratify laws that infringed upon the Iraqi identity in favor of non-Muslim constituents. When added to the failure of successive governments to stop continued encroachment by neighboring countries into our country’s political, economic and even military affairs, all stability and security in Iraq was lost. Not to mention, adding salt to the wound was the fact that the ruling parties formed militias and armed them with the most modern of weapons in order to impose their power outside of the law and the Iraqi constitution.

All this happened and is happening under the auspices of America and its allies, and their mysterious policy of blocking the influence of neighboring countries in Iraq has led Iraq to the most dangerous stage of building its future. America has faded and weakened, has not stopped the embezzlement of public funds and the corruption within some of the ruling parties that have consolidated strength through their rogue militias, and has begun to proclaim that their sectarian and national agenda agrees with the agendas of certain neighboring countries.

And despite America’s prior knowledge of their insatiable avarice in siphoning off the country’s wealth, the intentional sidelining of competent officials that took place under the American flag, the absence of transparency and accountability and the spread of corruption and nepotism in the country’s administrative and military circles all fit harmoniously with how America is planning to apply its policy in Iraq and the region. America and its allies have laid down plans they seek to execute uniformly in the Middle East region. These plans further their goals, guarantee the livelihoods of their clients and preserve their interests. From its perspective, America is a nonaggressive and peaceful country that looks to coexist in peace and safety with the people of the region, and it has plans and projects that will serve the region and rejuvenate its economy.

In reality, America bears full responsibility for the escalating losses the people have suffered, and continues to produce more victims with its support of forces that oppose the patriotism of a region’s people, among them ours. America and its allies were well aware of the incompetence of the powers to which they suggested delegating the implementation of the fragile democracy they brought with them. They aim to take advantage of their presence in the region to accumulate wealth and starve the region’s people, and to facilitate the war against our national culture and heritage of perseverance, a war that left behind a culture filled with patriotism and resistance to the agendas of neighboring countries and associated sectarian national relationships. America and its allies aim to fulfill their agendas, and are eager to carry out the forced displacement of the region’s people, so it does not pain the ruling forces to use live ammunition against their own people.

In Iraq, the national powers have endured the consequences of the hateful course of sectarian and ethnic politics that America has left to those it entrusted with the political process for governing the country. This, despite the majority of our people’s continued pacifism and opposition to this hateful method, whose victims range from hundreds of casualties to thousands of displaced people; our people have not thought to hold those behind that result accountable.

America and its allies have streamlined the process of robbing countries of their wealth, and plan to disrupt the societal and economic foundations of other countries. They take care to avoid helping governments discover the fate of their citizens’ money, which has been smuggled out to foreign banks, especially by those with dual citizenship whom America set up to rule in Iraq. Alongside its silence toward the leaders who oppose the peacefulness of the people, it calls for and advocates preservation of geographical unity of people and nation.

Meanwhile, there are signs, welcomed by those who America put in power, that indicate action has been taken to block finalizing the 2021 budget, the united court law and early elections, and that some of the ruling parties are trying to tie them all together, while America remains silent. We realize America is capable of deposing them as easily as it installed them, and believe that America is capable of doing all that is necessary to correct the mistaken course they have plotted for Iraq.
