President Bush Has the Power to End the Terror

AT last, President of the United States, George W. Bush, has identified the source of terrorism and the motives of terrorists. And instead of: declaring a war on terrorism in Afghanistan; detaining terror suspects without a fair trial at Guantanamo; fighting terrorism in the narrow alleys of Baghdad and the city of Karkouk; saying that he appreciates the efforts of Pakistani President Musharaf in ending the Red Mosque dispute; or announcing his support for the Lebanese army for driving the Fatah Al-Islam gang out of the Nahr Al-Bared Camp, President Bush has gone directly to the source, and has called for an international summit to revive the Middle East peace process WATCH .
Although the invitation comes late, it shows that President Bush has put his finger on the factors that lead to terrorism. President Bush has finally identified the Palestinian issue as the fountainhead of all resistance movements, which are determined to liberate Palestinian lands. In the name of liberating Palestine and freeing Jerusalem, Iran's efforts to take revenge on America have turned the Middle East into a battlefield. Because of its policy of unquestioning support for Israel, the United States faces confrontation in many parts of the region. Unless it releases the pressure at its source, America will never eliminate the key motivator of terror, which is the Palestinian cause. This is the core of the problem and the key to ending the Arab-Israeli conflict.
By enabling the creation of an International Army to settle the Arab-Israeli conflict under the auspices of the U.N. Security Council, America could end the terror. Such an army should be formed with the participation of all nations and would be welcomed across the globe. Such a force should be empowered to combat terrorism without infringing on the sovereignty of any country.
Similar to the action taken against terrorists [at the Red Mosque ] by Pakistan President Musharaf, this International Army would strike terrorists wherever they are active. Before the end of his term, President Bush could take this historic step. He is capable of solving the Palestinian issue without bias toward the Israelis. He is capable of bringing to an end the causes of terrorism and the excuses used by terrorists to kill Americans. President Bush has it within his power to dry out the sources of terrorism and eliminate the terrorists who use the Palestinian cause as an excuse for their brutal crimes against humanity.
