The declaration by U.S. President Barack Obama last Friday of a withdrawal plan for U.S. troops from Iraq is the result of the sacrifices made by the Iraqi people and their courageous resistance over the past six years, according to Iraq’s Olama and intellectuals.
In a statement issued by the Secretariat on Wednesday, it believes that U.S. President Obama’s decision to withdraw from Iraq is a step in the right direction. However, that step was described as incomplete because it did not come with the requirement to apologize to the people of Iraq for the crimes and serious violations committed by Bush, the offender against a safe country and injured people. Also, President Obama’s administration has not committed itself to providing compensation for the devestation resulting devastation from the crimes committed by the Bush administration in Iraq: the destruction and looting of wealth, the death, murder and sedition, the lost children, the widows who have lost the breadwinner, the polluted environment and the wasted construction opportunity.
The group, led by Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif Alhmim, added: “We will not give up the serious and persistent demands of all the consequences of this withdrawal, of responsibilities and commitments in complying with the brutal aggressor to recognize Iraq’s rights, and to bring the legal consequences and moral responsibility of the offender who committed major crimes against Iraq and its people, former U.S. President Bush.”
The following is the text of the statement:
“Concerning the declaration of withdrawal of his troops from Iraq, U.S. President Barack Obama announced his plan for the withdrawal of U.S troops from Iraq in a speech last Friday at a U.S. base in North Carolina. The declaration has multiple aspects and indications, and can be read in many different ways at the same time!
“We, as the scientists and intellectuals of Iraq, feel that the decision to withdraw from Iraq by U.S. President Obama is a step in the right direction, but is an incomplete step because it did not come with a statement of apology to the people of Iraq for the crimes and serious violations committed by Bush against a safe country and injured its people. The administration of President Obama has not committed itself to providing compensation for all of the devastation of the criminal Bush’s administration in Iraq; the destruction and looting of wealth, the death, murder and sedition, the lost children, the widows who have lost the breadwinner, the polluted environment and the wasted construction opportunity. “
They assert that the imperfect decision by U.S. President Obama to withdrawal is the result of the sacrifices of Iraqi people and the courageous resistance for the past six years. This decision wouldn’t have happened unless the U.S has had a huge amount of loss and the high cost paid from their vaults, which is ours, upon the blood of our sons. The biggest result of this arrogance is what has become of the U.S. with the catastrophic financial crisis!
However, every Iraqi will not celebrate until the occupier withdraws and the criminal Bush and his supporters are tried before the International Court which prosecutes war criminals and perpetrators of crimes of genocide. The blood of the martyrs will not dry up until the invaders comply with the will of the people to freedom, emancipation and self-determination without any interference from whatever and from whomever.
Iraq will remain its master and will not accept any bargaining on the present and future of its people. If Obama wants to correct the criminal Bush’s faults, then he must respect the choices of the Iraqis, away from any regional or international transactions. A free Iraq is led by its good sons, which is the factor of stability in the region. Any breach in this situation, any reneging on this fact or bypassing it would not be in favor of any stability and the world will not establish normal relations at the bilateral level. Regional and international relations should be based on the principle of mutual respect and non-interference in the internal affairs of states and respect for the legitimate aspirations of their people.
They also believe that the decision of U.S. President Obama would not meet the real demands of the Iraqi liberation, emancipation, sovereignty, as well as an apology and compensation for all of the rights that have been violated. Moreover, the community warns against any action that could serve as a detour to the withdrawal decision, such as maintaining permanent U.S. military bases, which threatens neighboring countries. They will not give up the serious and persistent demand of all the consequences of this withdrawal, with its responsibilities and commitments of complying with the brutal aggressor to restore Iraq’s rights, and to have the one who bears the legal consequences and moral responsibility , former U.S. President Bush, be held accountable for his major crimes against Iraq and its people, especially as this offender admitted that he based his decision to invade and occupy Iraq on wrong information!
The glorious God is over any tyrant.
