Minister or Mullah

“Without China’s help, Pakistan could not have become a nuclear power,” is attributed to Senator Jim Webb. Whether he made this statement or not is a separate and debatable issue. However, he did indeed say that right after Senator John Kerry’s visit to Pakistan, the Pakistani prime minister made a quick trip to China. This act is irrefutable proof of the fact that Pakistan has a long standing relationship with China. He also said that along with America, the whole international community should encourage China to play an effective role in world affairs.

This is absolutely correct that the U.S. Congress’ special committee has applied pressure on the Obama administration to keep it apprised of where Pakistan spends the aid provided by America. While giving permission to immediately disburse 25 percent of the aid, the special committee has also requested that the remaining 75 percent of the funds be held back until Obama’s administration can provide assurance that the funds disbursed have been used for their intended objectives.

The cat is slowly coming out of the bag; until now it was waiting to hang the “EXIT” sign, but now it is getting uncomfortable with the delay caused by bickering. There is fear anew about the bag being closed and being ground into stones.

America has crowned itself the autocratic ruler of the “corrupt autocratic world.” With its backing, the entire world’s corrupt rulers and “foreign secretaries” supplied by it (the United States) have become such experts at corrupt practices that they are now teaching corruption. They have also become experts in acting as puppets (of the United States) and being corrupt rulers. As soon as they became experts in this art, a new world came into existence and Mr. George Bush was crowned its ruler. Now just as profits from trading have started to flow in with commodities and assets exchanging hands. The banks and insurance companies began making such large profits with the help of the war that the trading profits started to look like peanuts in comparison. Now the situation has reversed and trading profits taking prevail over war.

The thing is that, whether it is trading or the “war on terror,” the merchants have their fingers firmly in the pot. Whatever is left over is taken by the twin towers of corruption and autocracy. There is gas, flour and sugar, but all of them are unattainable; there are flowers, but they are not blooming. My God what is going on?

It remains to be seen what the cat will do when it comes out of the bag. Will it hide behind a safe screen? Or will the safe screen come to it? Hey brother, what does it matter to us? If we see them then we will ask them: Are you a minister or a mullah?
