Pervez Musharraf’s government was America’s slave. It is a wonder why Musharraf did not sell the entire country to America. Before his departure, he was planning to call Colin Powell and hand over Pakistan to him. During his rule, the blood of thousands of Afghan Muslims began to flow. We gradually began selling ourselves to America. He made us an American ally and promoted all U.S. policies. He began calling his own Muslim people “terrorists,” and helped the foreigners in their unnecessary “war on terror.” The NATO countries then invaded Afghanistan. Pakistan continued providing logistic support to these countries during all this time. We stormed the Lal Masjid and caused bloodshed there, too.
America has been trying to buy us with its money. I wish there had been great leaders during Musharraf’s rule, honest leaders who would have led this country on a correct path. We never did; that is why we find ourselves in this deplorable situation today. All we have had were traitors. First, Bhutto came and tried to make speeches in her father’s fashion. She was shot dead. Then Asif Ali Zardari came and he promised us food, wealth and shelter. He did not deliver on his promises. Rather, he followed in Musharraf’s footsteps and began serving his master, America. Zardari could have chosen to break away from Musharraf’s policies. He could have led this country in a different direction. He could have ensured that it be strong, independent and sovereign.
After Pakistan’s involvement in the “war on terror,” General Kayani began to stress the importance of our sovereignty. He told the U.S. that we will not blindly follow it. I think Kayani has forgotten that every time America launches a drone attack on our soil, it violates our sovereignty. By using its fight against terrorism as an excuse, America has killed thousands of our innocent citizens in the tribal areas. Let’s ask Kayani: If you are bold and can verbally attack America’s presence on our ground, why can’t you aggressively speak out against its drone attacks?
I hope that our army leaders, who are good men, can effectively tackle America in the future. In today’s increasingly media-saturated culture, Pakistanis are more informed than before. They know who they want to cast their votes for. An average Pakistani does not love America. Pakistanis do not want politicians who want Pakistan to become America’s slave. America knows that most Pakistanis do not like it, and that it is not easy to attack a nuclear state like Pakistan. A lot of websites are showing us that, in addition to the drone attacks, America plans to attack us in many other ways and send more Pakistanis to hospitals. We expect a lot from our scientists, government and army. They need to prevent America’s drone attacks. We have the talent and resources to tackle all our problems. We just need an effective strategy. America is getting ahead in its game. I urgently request our establishment to not only address America’s presence on our ground, but also speak out against its air/drone attacks.
US drones over Pakistan is definitely a violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty. But flying passenger jets into buildings in New York is a violation of US sovereignty too, and when Pakistan provides shelter to the architect of that violation of US sovereignty next door to it’s main military academy, then what do you expect?
Is it really that hard to understand? Apparently so.
