Russian Authorities Accuse US of Human Trafficking

The Russian government reminded the U.S. that they were and remain the world’s leading importers of “living goods.” Alexander Lukashevich, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made this declaration on Monday, June 25, in response to a report that the U.S. Department of State published on the fight against global human trafficking.
The aforementioned U.S. report ranked Russia as a “group 2” country: that is, in the category of countries that require “special attention” with respect to allegedly insufficient active measures aimed at combating such crimes.
“American foreign political authorities, devoting such steadfast attention to human trafficking outside the borders of the U.S., attend to the situation at home with the same meticulous analysis. Namely, the U.S. was and remains the world leader in importing human beings. According to human rights activists, of the 12 million illegal immigrants currently on U.S. soil, every year 100,000 to 500,000 people become victims of trafficking for the purpose of exploiting labor,” said Lukashevich.
He also emphasized that the report is a politically driven document, shamefully illustrating how the U.S. and its Western allies a priori rank themselves as “A-students,” while those governments that are undesirable to the Americans are associated with actions deemed to be human rights violations. Afterwards, these countries are subjected to various sanctions. It is noteworthy that Syria recently appeared on a list of “problem” governments.
Moreover, there is nothing in the document about the supply of sex slaves in areas where the U.S. military is permanently deployed abroad. It is also silent, according to Lukashevich, about instances of child trafficking in the U.S. The non-profit Project Polaris estimates that every year 100,000 children are involved in the American sex industry.
He concluded that the true goal of such American studies is no secret. The purpose is to justify the increase of State Department expenditures in the eyes of the American taxpayer — expenditures aimed at implementing only the “right” methods of combating human rights violations abroad.
