The U.S. government does not stop in its continuous high-profile campaigns against Bolivia, utilizing as its instruments this Andean nation’s fractional and weak opposition and the various right-wing media groups that act as political parties.
In the last couple of hours, by means of its diplomatic seat in La Paz, the Washington regime evidently instructed its national mercenaries to run the rumor that the White House will freeze foreign relations with President Evo Morales’s government for five years.
The daily right-wing newspaper El Diario initially spread the news over the supposed intention of the North American administration. By the way, it did so once the Bolivian authorities told the newspaper that it could be embargoed if it did not pay the taxes it owes to the treasury, almost $190 million.
Many mediocre opposition voices immediately joined in the new crusade orchestrated against Bolivia. These echoed El Diario’s report, and their speculations went even further, prognosticating that Washington’s eventual decision would isolate the executive Morales from the world, as if the United States were the universe.
The objective of this clucking by adversaries to the process of change underway in this South American country is to build worry among the population and those who still see the U.S. regime as their master after many long years of imperialist dominion by way of submissive and neoliberal governments.
However, nothing could be further from the truth than the information and rumors launched in La Paz regarding Washington’s supposed freezing of its ties with Bolivia.
It is well known in this capital that for months the Obama administration has been trying, almost begging, for the executive Morales to grant his blessing to America’s designated ambassador to this Latin American country, something which it has not obtained yet.
On the other hand, it is known that its withdrawal would limit the subversive actions of the United States in Bolivia and, at the same time, its public objective to try to overthrow from power the current president in the 2014 elections for his clear anti-imperialist conduct and acceptance of a greater Latin American integration.
The U.S. regime is not so dumb as to retreat from a country with immense natural resources and a prosperous economic future, as well as a geopolitical situation that is vital to its destabilization plans in Latin America.
The murmur created by Washington is just that, and if we talk about freezing foreign relations, Bolivia is the one to put the U.S. in the freezer for its conspiratorial and meddling conduct.
