America’s Blasphemous Democracy and Human Rights Attempts in the Middle East

The United States being in the Middle East has given it huge economic benefits, which explains Washington’s absurd attempts to meddle in the affairs in the region. The public is told that it is to promote “democracy” and “prosperity” in the Middle East and that all Muslims deserve basic human rights, but in reality, the reason why the United States is in the Middle East has little to do with “prosperity” or “democracy,” or how people, in their current situations, are not only deprived of human rights, but are forced to live without security and in fear both day and night. American democracy has meant only empty human rights slogans for these people. Today, people in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Egypt, Pakistan and other countries live in constant fear and trepidation, and over 2 million innocent people have been killed, all in the name of Washington’s desecration of democracy and human rights.

Early on in Obama’s presidency, he made high-profile attempts to improve American relations with Islamic countries. However, according to a Pew Center survey, the results showed that not only did the Islamic countries in the Middle East not appreciate the U.S. military’s attempts to bring “prosperity and democracy,” more and more people were filled with hatred for the United States. The American media wonders why so many U.S. troops put themselves in danger by fighting in the Middle East and how, when they give so much economic “aid,” they get so little in return. Why has America become the enemy of Islamic nations? The answer is simple: The United States’ political, military and cultural role in the Middle East has to do with their oil, putting the region’s population in turmoil and restlessness, triggering strong and inevitable anti-American sentiments.

The White House’s Middle East Oil Policy

The public discontent of Middle Eastern countries is growing with the actions and words of America. The White House will not hesitate to use Israel to stir up trouble and attempt to control the Middle East for oil. The American media has implemented a long-term propaganda campaign through American film, animation, games and other works to demonize Islamic countries. There is evidence of American soldiers showing complete disrespect to Islamic civilization by throwing insults at the people, torturing them and burning the Quran while the United States military turns a blind eye to these acts. American soldiers have urinated on the dead in Iraq for fun, which just further shows how deceptive Washington’s presentation of “democracy and prosperity” in the Middle East is.

National Interest, an American journal, has published an article entitled “Washington’s Laughable Middle East Policy,”* which bluntly criticizes George W. Bush and Obama’s ideas on the Middle East as absurd and stupid. Obama’s narcissistic media claims that the overthrow of Libya’s Gadhafi regime is one of America’s most successful and least expensive wars with a lot of benefits. However, the Libyan attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi and the death of the American ambassador seemingly contradicts the democracy slogans of the United States. Republican Senator John McCain believes that Obama’s vision for the Middle East is a useless cause. But whether it is Bush or Obama, they are only looking to gain oil in the Middle East, not push for democracy and human rights.

Islam Is the United States’ Devil

The intervention in Libya and the situation in Egypt just represent how the U.S. refuses to leave Iraq, Afghanistan and other countries where they can benefit from the colonization of these Islamic countries. Washington’s political interference in the Middle East has become commonplace while arbitrary military intervention and drone attacks have certainly led to continued strong dissatisfaction among Islamic countries with the United States. The U.S. invasion of Iraq led to the death of 5,000 soldiers, but nearly a million Iraqis have died as a result of war. Now there are terrorist activities in Iraq every day. Iraqis have a good sense of humor, though. According to one, the United States is the devil. The only democracy criticized is that of George W. Bush, while Obama will never be beheaded, since it is the norm.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai recently ordered the release of 72 people accused of having “hands stained with the blood of Americans,” which further shows the strong resentment of the Obama administration. Americans believe that this release of dangerous Taliban militants is in direct violation of their detainees’ agreement. Afghan officials say, though, that they have the right to release these people, showing that American dominance in Afghanistan has been shaken. Karzai also said publicly that he does not trust the United States and that the United States does not trust him. The attempts of the Afghan government and Taliban to reach a settlement also highlights the failure of the U.S. war in Afghanistan. Today, the call for Americans to get out of Afghanistan is one of the strongest voices and sentiments in the country.
