In the past year, 50 percent of Muslims have faced discrimination in the United States. Seventy-four percent of Muslims feel Trump does not have a friendly attitude toward them, while some feel insecure in the country. These findings have been presented in a report from the Pew Research Center.
The number of problems faced by Muslims has increased since the Trump government came into power. Even before then, the whole of the West, including the U.S., has viewed Muslims with suspicion where terrorism is concerned.
Trump, the current U.S. president, made hostility toward Muslims a basic part of his political campaign. After being elected president, he placed restrictions on the citizens of several Muslim countries to prevent them from entering the U.S. His anti-Muslim stance on issues relating to employment, residence and refugees is also very obvious.
Trump regards Muslims and Muslim countries as terrorists. This is the reason the U.S. administration and the public have also started showing prejudice in their attitude toward Muslims. This has been clearly expressed in the report from the Pew Research Center, which is an American organization.
Women have openly expressed the view that it has now become very difficult for Muslims to live in the U.S., and that they are unable to act freely on their religious principles.
The U.S. media, too, appear to have been totally unsuccessful in awakening public opinion and recognition of the discrimination being faced by Muslims, and as a result, the suffering of Muslims in the U.S. is also on the rise. To remedy the situation, Muslim countries need to jointly raise their voice.
