Even though the U.S. and the Republic of Moldova are very different countries and far from one another in many ways, Moldovans, like the rest of the world, have their opinion about the U.S. president, Donald Trump. On the first anniversary of Trump’s inauguration, Gallup conducted an opinion poll in 134 countries around the world. People were asked whether they approve or disapprove of the way Trump is handling his job as president. Here is what Moldovans answered.

Citizens of the Republic of Moldova approve of the way Trump leads the United States at a rate of 32 percent. Another 41 percent of Moldovans say they do not like the way Trump is handling his job, and 27 percent could not answer this question. The number of Moldovans who approve of the way the U.S. is being governed fell by 5 percent compared to 2016.

On the other hand, our neighbors across the Prut River seem more satisfied with Trump than Moldovans. Thus, 41 percent of Romanians approve of Trump's presidential style, while 26 percent disapprove, and 18 percent did not know how to answer the question.

In Ukraine, a large number of people could not evaluate Trump's governance – some 39 percent. At the same time, 36 percent approved of his presidency and 25 percent disapproved of it..

In Russia, 58 percent of citizens are dissatisfied with the way America is governed by Trump.

In Europe, the highest percentage of dissatisfaction with Trump is in Norway at 83 percent, followed by Iceland, Austria and Belgium. In Kosovo, Trump has the highest percentage of support at 75 percent.

In the East, Israel trusts Trump the most; Pakistan the least.
