The beauty of Russian weapons was the reason Donald Trump’s campaign committee accidentally chose to incorporate them into his most recent campaign ad, according to a representative of the Russian state corporation, Rostec, who referred to a recent campaign ad created by President Trump’s supporters. Although the ad was created in support of the U.S. military, it depicted a soldier carrying an AK-47 with an airborne Mikoyan MiG-29 fighter jet in the background.
“It is obvious that such a mistake was caused by the beauty and elegance of Russian arms. It appears that the graphic designer was so impressed, that he forgot to double-check the country that had produced them. However, he definitely has good taste, and we hope that he will not be punished too strictly,” the representative told TASS. “We would like to gift our faraway colleague with a book on Russian fighter aircraft – a beautiful and comprehensive volume. We await an address to send it to.”
In the U.S., arms are a big topic of discussion. Michael Caputo, assistant secretary of public affairs at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, warned that Trump’s supporters will need to be ready for an increase in violence after the election and stock up on ammunition.
The quarterly income of American firearms manufacturer Smith & Wesson more than doubled within the U.S. due to the upcoming presidential elections, coronavirus pandemic and civil unrest. Along with this, arms sales have a tendency to increase in election years because citizens fear the possibility that gun control regulations will become stricter.
