The US Is Preparing for a ‘Special War’

Over the last week, four interrelated developments have occurred that signal the U.S. is preparing for a “special war” in this new era as it turns toward taking a series of actions, from attempted coups to assassinations, from cybersabotage to attacks aimed at the economy.
The Pentagon’s 60,000-Strong Secret Army
First, Newsweek magazine published the results of a study conducted over two years. According to the report, the Defense Department has established a large secret army nearly 60,000-strong over the past 10 years. Half of this army is made up of special operations forces, and conducts both civilian and military operations throughout certain parts of the world.
According to the report, nearly 130 private companies taking part in the Pentagon’s “secret army” are forging false documents for people working under false names. They are producing special devices and equipment for eavesdropping and surveillance even in the most remote corners of Africa and the Middle East.

Second, a Pentagon Engineers Association document revealed by American media showed that the U.S. has made a five-year agreement with certain companies to build new facilities in nearly 20 countries. In the document showing a $240 million spending plan, it is worth noting that Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan are among the countries where the U.S. is planning to build military facilities.
It’s interesting. Last week, I gave space in this column to the remarks of Paul Goble, a CIA analyst. Goble said, “Turkey, possessing a key geographic location on the Bosporus and Black Sea, is tremendously important for the U.S. Turkey should bring its influence in Central Asia to the table in negotiations with the U.S.”*
Third, NATO chiefs of staff in Brussels convened a NATO Military Committee meeting. The Ukrainian and Georgian chiefs of staff were also invited. Air Chief Marshal Stuart Peach, chairman of the NATO Military Committee, and NATO Assistant Secretary General Mircea Geoana announced in the meeting that NATO was pledging support to Ukraine and Georgia in their conflict with Russia.
The New Role of the Special Operations Forces
Finally, a strategic change has been made in U.S. military doctrine regarding the U.S. Navy’s special operations forces. According to a report from Business Insider, the Navy SEALs’ training will be conducted out from now on within the framework of preparation for war against Russia and China.
Another report published earlier this month in Business Insider announced that NATO Special Forces’ Trojan Footprint 21 and Black Swan 21 drills will be studied and carried out in the event of a potential clash with Russia. These include the removal of sabotage groups from the Crimea, which the Russian army identifies as an important “stronghold.”

These developments signal that the U.S. will focus its attention on a “special war” in the new era, which the U.S. military is planning for and will spare no expense, including the production of fake documents to build U.S. facilities, as well as action on a doctrinal level.
Why? Because American hegemony is getting weaker. U.S. military planning, which once relied on the “2.5 War” concept, has already reverted to a “1.5 War” concept.
So, what will the practical repercussions of the “special war” be?
1. The United States’ primary goal will be to organize acts of sabotage that will disturb Russia and China;
2. On the other hand, the U.S. will organize deterrence operations against its traditional allies, including Germany and especially Turkey, which developed cooperative ties with Russia and China. One should recall the past special operations of NATO’s secret army, Gladio.
3. The U.S. will continue its counter-coup d’etat efforts in countries where it seeks regime change, especially Venezuela;
4. The U.S. will try to conduct military, political and economic assassinations, similar to the assassination of Qassem Soleimani.
5. The cyber army, which is an important unit of the United States’ 60,000-troop secret army, will gravitate toward a series of actions, from cybersabotage to digital operations, that will cause problems for the economy.
In short, we are entering a period where targeted countries must take multifaceted measures against America’s special war operations.
