Trump: Justice or the White House?

When Donald Trump announced in mid-November that he was running for reelection, many saw it as an effort to obstruct justice. This explained why he was throwing himself into it so early and in such a disheveled fashion.
It appears to be generally accepted in the U.S. that you don't trip up a presidential candidate by throwing legal proceedings in his face. Donald Trump was probably banking on that to avoid the torrent of accusations he is facing.
Frankly, while this reasoning may have held up in the past for insignificant cases that did not warrant impeding a race for the White House, it no longer holds up for Trump. The House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol has referred Trump on criminal charges. It would be an aberration if the U.S. justice system did not move forward.
Just imagine the absurd result. The guy in the highest office in the land incited an insurrection on Capitol Hill, but because he wants to get back in the chair now, the Justice Department will pass the buck on irresponsible action and crimes against the state that Trump committed while he held the privilege of occupying that chair.
Multiple Cases
Trump's case is unprecedented in the history of the U.S. The grounds are full! Full of stories that would be dirty enough to banish any other politician. Trump survives because he has hypnotized a segment of the electorate. He has convinced them that he is on their side while the other elected officials, the elite, just don't want what's good for the people.
Let's summarize Trump's record.
Inciting an insurrection at the Capitol, putting the safety of senators, his vice president, Mike Pence, and security personnel at stake. The riot left four people dead.
Calling the secretary of state in in Georgia and asking him to "find 11,780 votes. That conversation was recorded.
Keeping classified documents that belong to the federal government at his personal villa at Mar-a-Lago and lying during the process of retrieving them.
And that’s on top of all the records concerning fraud by his companies.
Turning a Blind Eye?
Passing the buck on all this because he's in the race? That’s not worthy of a self-respecting country. Besides, is he really in the race? Or did he just want to evade the chalice of justice? Declaring his candidacy was a farce.
He's not even really campaigning except for launching a collection of ridiculous trading cards featuring himself. Cards that made millions...yes, money again.
Republican Rep. Liz Cheney said the wisest and truest thing in simple terms. Based on his behavior, Trump is not fit to hold any high-level elected office in the country.
For the sake of the U.S. and the world, let's hope the American justice system pulls it together.
