The War of "Shields"!
Russia's announcement of its deployment of the Iskander missile system on the European border is a bold step in the face of American plans to control the Eurasian region and threaten the Russian Federation's national security by encircling Russia with a U.S. missile shield.
Most observers see this move as an indication of Moscow's lack of confidence in previous U.S. pledges to freeze stations in the Western Shield, and as a return of Russian-American understandings to square one — freezing relations between the parties by reneging on the first and second conditions of START.
Decisions taken by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev allow the Iskander missile system to thwart the U.S. missile shield's offensive and counter-offensive operating systems. This aggravates the West, largely because its effects will curb and rein in the American Empire in the regions of the Caspian, the Caucasus and former Soviet Union territories. The focus on the control of these countries is essentially based on the control of oil and gas, as well as securing supply lines from the heart of Asia to Europe.
Perhaps more worrying for Washington is Russia's confrontational attitude toward the U.S. Other major superpowers suffering from U.S. military and economic policies have voiced their support for Russia's actions, with China at the top of the list. China has political concerns with the U.S. that are similar to Moscow's, so the two countries aid each other on several important issues.
The resolutions of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization take a similar line against the United States, where in addition to China and Russia, we find Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Similar are the decisions from the BRIC countries, where, in addition to Moscow and Beijing, there is also Brazil, South Africa and India. Does America know they are no longer a unipolar hegemon leading the world?!
