The Supreme Leader’s chief representative to universities emphasized that in the last 33 years, the resistance of Iran has had the greatest effect on awakening the Muslim countries in the region and has broken America’s dominance. According to a Mehr news report, Hojatoleslam Mohammad Mohammadian, the Supreme Leader’s chief representative to universities, attended the Islamic Revolution, the 9th Majlis [parliamentary] election and Islamic Awakening conference held by Tehran University. He expressed that the current era is the era of Allah’s promises for great development.

Regarding the Islamic Awakening and regional developments, he said, “The root of the Islamic Awakening is one of the more important issues that must be handled. The Awakening is something that must be tended to in the colleges. It is widely accepted that colleges are the area where most issues must be tended to.” He also stated that the cause of this development should be sought out in the existence of Israel in the region. He continued, “The roots of this issue started when Israel developed in the region because all major developments started during the creation of this sinister regime.”

Mohammadian pointed out Israel’s two goals in the region: “The Zionists have two major goals in this region. The first is to cooperate with the Europeans until the European Zionist fanatics are comfortable. The second is to share control of the sensitive Middle East with fanatics in order to further their own goals.”
