The Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nicolas Maduro, informed the Union of South American States (UNASUR) that they are preparing a document to alert the nations of Latin America of the campaign undertaken by the United States against the Bolivarian government and the Venezuelan democracy ahead of the presidential elections in October.

“We have constant contact with UNASUR, and in a show of solidarity with Venezuela and its people, are currently preparing a document to support the government and the democracy of Venezuela”, said Maduro when interviewed on Venezolano de Television (VTV), according to the publication AVN.

The minister stated that the government had prepared a large-scale plan, of international scope, to publicize these imperial conspiracies against Venezuela.

It is said that President Chavez alerted the country in order to arouse the natural defenses of the people and their laws against this imperialist attack carried out with the support of the Venezuelan far right.

In another vein, Minister Maduro indicated that there is already a consensus within the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas (ALBA) to, with the participation of Cuba, deliver a document at the Summit of the Americas with the clear position that the United States shall not carry out any more events of this nature.

Similarly he will call for compliance with the UN resolutions, in effect for 18 continuous years now, which call for an end to the Cuban trade embargo imposed since 1960 by the United States government on the Caribbean island.

Another issue that will be raised will be accompanied by the Argentine people, in its demand for the return of the Falkland Islands and the decolonization of the archipelago.
