The Boston Explosions: He Who Sows the Wind Reaps the Whirlwind!

Regardless of which party was responsible for the attacks in Boston, and before getting ahead of the results of the American authorities’ investigation based on photos taken of the suspects at the scene, what happened was not a surprise to anyone because the policy of thuggery, arrogance and double standards that the American administration pursues when dealing with the world has not changed. American fleets carrying messages of threat and hostility to other nations roam the world’s seas and oceans without rest. America’s military bases, which intervene in the [private] affairs of countries and peoples, are distributed across many regions of the world. And the most common and widely used weapons among terrorists — especially the Zionist entity — come from the United States.

Before we delve deeper into a study of the causes behind these attacks, we must stress that any action with the intent to take the lives of civilians without an objective reason or acceptable justification is a condemnable terrorist act. Such an act is likely to give another boost to the culture of hate, of which the United States is considered among the most prominent countries when it comes to distributing and invigorating this culture worldwide.

To understand the phenomenon of terrorism and its causes, we must consider the fact that the wars and military conflicts that have caused broad social tragedies constitute a fertile environment for its growth and blossoming. Similarly, failed states, which are born from the womb of war, are the primary incubators of terrorism and extremist terrorist groups. There is no doubt that Palestine, Afghanistan, Somalia and Iraq are real-life models for understanding the phenomenon of extremism and terrorism, and it is no coincidence that the United States is a participant in or directly responsible for what has occurred and is occurring in those places. No one would dispute that the United States’ direct sponsorship of terrorism in Afghanistan contributed to the occurrence of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.

Perhaps the world noticed how muddled the American authorities and their president, Barack Obama, were after the Boston explosions. If the cameras that were covering the activities of the Boston Marathon hadn’t relayed the truth of what happened live on air, perhaps we would have heard a completely different American narrative, one that would likely serve the country’s idiotic policy on a number of issues, particularly Iran’s nuclear program and the crisis in Syria. Those are two issues that America has an advantage in inflaming and exacerbating to the furthest extent.

In any case, there is no connection between the attacks and what is happening with regard to Iran’s nuclear status, the crisis in Syria or the Palestine issue. At the very least, preliminary investigations and facts are heading toward placing responsibility on “lone wolf” individuals, and the suspects at the moment are two persons of Chechen nationality.

In principle, we can only see a link between what is occurring in Chechnya — armed separated groups fighting the state of Mother Russia — and the latest Boston attacks from one angle: Those armed terrorist units are tied to al-Qaida and bear the same takfiri,* jihadist ideas. This organization is openly against the United States and has threatened to target it many times in recent years, particularly after its leader, Osama bin Laden, was killed by a special forces operation in Pakistan in May 2011, according to the American narrative.

The common reading of the explosions and the reactions to them is as a terrorist act with unclear motives. Unlike the usual occurrence, no group has announced responsibility. This has left the American authorities with the freedom to use and exploit the event domestically and internationally in any way they see fit, even if it also constitutes a blow to Obama’s politics and his administration, which claims to combat terrorism in one place while practicing and supporting it elsewhere.

The truth of the situation is that the United States is reaping the cost of its failed policies around the world. Al-Qaida would not have been born if the United States and its puppets in the [Middle East] region hadn’t created, funded and armed it so that they could use it in the fight against the former Soviet Union. Many of the [other] extremist and terrorist movements around the world were born of American wars and interventions. The Iraqi and Libyan experiences, fresh in the world’s minds, remain good proof that he who sows the wind reaps the whirlwind: In Libya, the first achievement of the armed groups that Washington supported and brought to power was the killing of the American ambassador in Benghazi, and the rest of the story is well known.

In relation to the Syrian crisis, the United States and some of its allies play a subversive role by supporting and arming armed groups and militias that are loyal to al-Qaida who are killing the Syrian people and stealing and sabotaging their property. At the same time, the United States publicly classifies those groups as terrorist organizations. It won’t be long before it discovers the error and gravity of its barbaric policies. Perhaps the United States has come to resemble a person who breeds poison vipers on his lap.
