Joe Biden: Family First

The president is ending his term in office against a backdrop of nepotism and senility. But what is even more worrying is what he has to say about justice.

This must come as a shock to those who considered Joe Biden to be the model of virtue in the face of the profane Donald Trump. This is a president who is definitively protecting his son from the clutches of justice by granting him a presidential pardon. And the icing on the cake? He does this after having said multiple times that he would never, ever do such a thing.

To put it bluntly, his policy is not “America First” but “My Son First.” In other words, it is nepotism wrapped in a blanket of lies. It’s a tough pill for American Democrats to swallow, but it’s not the only one.

During the campaign, Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris called Trump a “fascist.” Yet after the overwhelming majority of votes in favor of the Republican, President Biden kindly invited Trump to Washington. Isn’t it strange to ask Hitler to have tea at the White House?

One could sneer at these enormities and the catastrophic end to Biden’s time in office. After all, he is leaving in a state of advanced senility after having failed to prepare his replacement and spectacularly favoring those closest to him. But there is something even more disturbing about this presidential pardon. His justification for it.

Biden is attacking the justice system head-on, basically stating that it was used as a weapon by his political opponents, therefore making it null and void. This is exactly the same line that Trump has used for years, and he has promised to get revenge.

Beyond Trump and Biden, American justice is increasingly at risk of being used as a weapon by politicians against their opponents or as a welcome mat for their friends and family. Worrying.
