Donald Trump: Dilemma of Politics and Governance
He masters conflicts, dispensing support and satisfaction alongside the tools of terror, worry and fear. The result is a world portrayed as nothing but a village under aggression, where defiance is met with decapitation, and where any drive for liberation of will or political enfranchisement is ruthlessly oppressed.
The current U.S. president arrived amid massive clamor: rosy promises, daily threats, attempts to swallow up wealth and seize resources, meddling with maritime canals east and west, terrorizing small nations, endorsing a policy of plundering others' wealth and spreading armed conflicts across the globe.
All of this is based on the pretext of achieving stability and attempting to resolve various conflicts according to a U.S. agenda that, unfortunately, is built on a racist, aggressive approach. This approach tampers with the trade balance among nations and fatally undermines the democracy of international relations, giving to whom he wishes and denying whom he does not.
We imagined that a strong leader would come to the pinnacle of power in the U.S. — one who would curb extremism, strive for a stable world where peace prevails, freedoms are secured and the nation-state flourishes. Yet, what has happened is entirely different: Barriers between peoples have gone up, and distances among nations have widened. We can no longer anticipate what lies ahead or predict the future of humanity.
Each day brings us more news, filled with events that evoke astonishment and condemnation, including the stark announcement of upcoming schemes to devour other populations, seize sovereign nations and stable political entities through the logic of force. Matters have gone so far as to reach the point of kidnapping a sovereign neighboring head of state — whatever his crimes may be — in his pajamas and transporting him to the U.S. to stand trial there.
These are unprecedented, bizarre actions that carry grave implications — the absence of legitimacy, the vanishing of law and the disregard for the charters the human community has established over its long journey.
If we look at the Trumpian model closely, we find among his ideas some that are agreeable and likable: he is opposed to "homosexuality" in all its forms — a mentality that aligns with human nature and religious ethics. Similarly, he wages a fierce war against drugs, which ravage youth, cloud minds and destroy future generations.
We stand with him on what aligns with human nature and universal philosophy. Yet, we certainly disagree on his extremist policies, erratic decisions and methodology of thinking and implementation.
Therefore, we see that what is happening in our contemporary world, along with the decisions emanating from the Atlantic West, are signs and omens of an uncertain future. This future is causing Western democracy as a whole to head toward collapse, following a clear decline and pressures from the powerful upon small nations and oppressed societies. Perhaps the tragedy of the Palestinian people is the clearest evidence of what we say and witness to what we see.
Thus, the international community is facing a difficult test that threatens entry into a world war. This situation calls on everyone to reconsider their calculations and restrain their decisions, for this is the lifeboat for humanity, for all human beings.
