Speculation that bin Laden Is All for the Election
The mastermind of 9/11 and the spiritual leader of al-Qaida, Osama bin Laden, was beheaded by the U.S. Navy Seals yesterday [May 2].
Obama announced the beheading of bin Laden during the evening after having successfully carried out the operation. The nation rejoiced in this victory in the war on terror as if the carnival of the century was being held. However, a picture of laughter because of the death of a person and a scene of celebration because of the passing of another group’s hero could be symbolized as peace and justice in one nation — but unfortunately, in another land it can be differently regarded as flaunting, arrogant and vengeful. Of course the U.S. knows that with bin Laden’s death maybe another terrorist attack is on the way. However, Obama chose to use the big moment to stand before a large screen and personally inform the people of this good news; this must be taken into consideration after looking at the discontent in his long-term support.
In the al-Qaida organization, there is more than one soldier for bin Laden. Moreover, the U.S. has spent 10 years trying to catch the mastermind; does this story really deserve such arrogance? Or is it just some issue for Obama’s re-election? Very much worth considering.
