Chinese Expert: The US Has Failed to Stab Russia and China in the Back
The U.S. attempted to plunge a knife into the backs of Russia and China when it invited the presidents of four Central Asian countries — Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan — to the NATO summit in Chicago, although the Uzbek president declined the invite. This is demonstrative of the great confidence of the leaders of the central Asian republics, since regional security more and more is equated with competence. In the modern world, the expert emphasized, “The trend of multi-polarization is growing at an increasing rate, but the U.S., due to the ‘cold war’ concept, is attempting to retain its hegemony and extend NATO’s presence across the globe, so that the North Atlantic alliance might become the global center for security.” This sort of logic runs contrary to the trend of the era, assured the Chinese specialist. Moreover, he emphasized the growing role of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), an “organization based upon full equality of parties and cooperative action against the ‘three forces of evil’; in addition, the organization is attempting to strengthen economic cooperation.”
As an example of productive cooperation between Russia and China, Shen Tsizhu cites recent joint military exercises, in regard to which “Russian diplomats stated that no third country should interfere with issues related to the South China Sea.” According to the expert, “The stated positions demonstrate the strengthening of strategic cooperation between China and Russia. Furthermore, the cooperation of China and Russia, as two of the largest nations in the SCO, will no doubt ensure the stable development of the SCO.”
