Washington(ANP)- In several states in the east of the United States Tuesday polling places opened up at 12 p.m. Dutch Time for the elections. The Americans will choose their president for the 44th time.

In the polls of the last months, the Democrat Barack Obama is favorite after 8 years of George Bush.

The voting offices opened at 12 p.m. Dutch time. Also, in the state of Indiana which, according to tradition, votes Republican, there is a chance John McCain will lose the state to Obama.


WASHINGTON (ANP) - In een aantal staten in het oosten van de Verenigde Staten zijn dinsdag om 12.00 uur de stembureaus voor de verkiezingen geopend. De Amerikanen kiezen voor de 44ste keer een president.
