Freedom in the Eyes of Uncle Sam

President Barack Obama’s presentation of the highest civil award in the United States – the Presidential Medal of Freedom – to President Shimon Peres of the Israeli entity has revealed the falsity of American recovery slogans and their deceptive purposes.

This award simply commemorates America’s betrayal and manipulation of oppressed people, so long as such a betrayal serves U.S. interests. The award also ridicules and makes a mockery of the lost lives of the innocent victims in Palestine and other Arab nations, whose blood was spilt treacherously and without any remorse whatsoever, although they demanded nothing more than freedom and a dignified life. The award negates all those beguiling ideas about human rights that Obama likes to shout about far and wide.

The question remains: Why would Obama give Peres the Medal of Freedom when he was the one person who least deserved it? Or was Peres not an engineer in the Israeli military nuclear program? Was he not part of the systems of military cooperation with France which led to the tripartite aggression against Egypt? Or was he not responsible for the Grapes of Wrath Operation and the Qana massacre? Wasn’t Peres the one who imposed the blockade on 1.5 million Palestinians in Gaza? Wasn’t he responsible for the war in Gaza, which led to the deaths of 1,500 people and left over 5,400 people injured? Wasn’t he accused of raping and sexually harassing three women and subsequently sentenced to seven years in prison?

Despite all this, when it came time to “honor” Peres, Obama did not disapprove – especially since the presidential elections are fast approaching and, in any case, Obama’s hands are no less bloody than his. During Obama’s mandate, U.S. troops killed Afghans and Iraqis and participated in the slaughter of Libyans. His administration did not abandon their dirty methods, but rather, resorted to encouraging killing and destruction in Syria while simultaneously turning a blind eye to the dictatorships of the dependent young Arabs, intending for these very dictatorships to function as paid tools for America in order to attack larger countries.

And as the saying goes: Tell me who you would honor and I will tell you who you are … and if you honor a criminal that proves that you are a criminal thug.
