The ‘God Complex’: Political Scientist Breaks Down the Hype around Elon Musk*

*Editor’s note: On March 4, 2022, Russia enacted a law that criminalizes public opposition to, or independent news reporting about, the war in Ukraine. The law makes it a crime to call the war a “war” rather than a “special military operation” on social media or in a news article or broadcast. The law is understood to penalize any language that “discredits” Russia’s use of its military in Ukraine, calls for sanctions or protests Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It punishes anyone found to spread “false information” about the invasion with up to 15 years in prison.

Political scientist Malek Dudakov says Elon Musk mocks people he doesn’t like.

Malek Dudakov, a political scientist and Americanist, said in an interview with NEWS.ru that American billionaire Elon Musk, who has recently attracted significant attention with his controversial statements about others, likely has a “God complex.” Dudakov believes that Musk wants to “reshape” the world to fit his own vision. He also points out that Musk mocks people he doesn’t like.

“Musk is one of the richest and most influential people on the planet, so, of course, he likely has a God complex and a desire to reshape the world — and especially the United States — to fit his own vision,” Dudakov said.

At the same time, Dudakov insists that Musk shouldn’t be labeled insane. The Americanist states that the entrepreneur is simply “showing off,” believing he is one of the few people who “won’t face any consequences.” Some of Musk’s actions are indeed serious because he is dissatisfied with the state of affairs in the U.S., Europe, the UK, and other countries, Dudakov clarified.

Earlier, Musk’s biographer, Seth Abramson, warned that the billionaire’s mental health is rapidly declining. He called Musk a danger to the U.S. Abramson argues that the entrepreneur’s instability is a threat to society due to his significant influence in both politics and economy.
