Caracas- Today the Venezuelan Chancellor Nicolas Maduro characterized a presumed conspiracy to deal a coup d’état to President Hugo Chavez as extremely serious and denounced the Unites States for its involvement.

During a live interview with Venezuelan Television (VTV), the minister pointed out that in the denunciation of the conspiracy against the Venezuelan democracy direct proof is arising of the participation of retired officials and the White House.

These troops gravely betrayed their promise of peace and service to our people and those of us in the government are bringing testimony of the intended coup d’etat to international organizations, indicated Maduro. The world should know the handiwork directed from President George W. Bush’s administration against Venezuela and other progressive political processes in Latin America, remarked the diplomatic chief.

Agents of the opposition oligarchy intend to manipulate the public opinion of the country even to the point of destroying the life of the president, but we have stable and strong institutions and they shall not reach these objectives, emphasized Maduro.

We don’t doubt, he added, that the Bush administration is behind this conspiracy. Meanwhile, the closer the Republican official in the United States gets to the end of his mandate, the more he tries to fill the entire world with blood, he said.

In the conspiracies denounced by the television program The Hojilla we see a line of action orchestrated by the Oval Office, not only against Chavez, but against the whole progressive Latin America, stressed the chancellor.

We ask, added Maduro, our people to defend justice and confront the agents that try to divert Venezuela from its path to twenty first century Socialism and its popular achievements. According to VTV, Vice Admiral Carlos Millan, the retired general of the Winifredo Barroso National Guard and the retired general of Eduardo Baez Aviation talked about attacking Miraflores Palace and stealing F-16 planes.

Mario Silva, director of the La Hojilla program, presented the recording on the evening that the troops, active and retired, planned the coup d'etat against Chavez and the attack on the central office of government.
