New Yorkers want Michael Bloomberg. An opinion poll revealed that the majority of citizens of the Big Apple want the mayor to remain in office for a third mandate.

Research conducted at Quinnipiac University showed that 54% of the citizens are favorable to the extension of Bloomberg’s time in office. The New York mayor obtained a real consensus in these last months. A similar opinion poll conducted last July, in fact, showed that only 38% were favorable to a new candidacy, while 56% were opposed.

The mayor, who is to be in expiration of mandate in 2009, in the light of the loan crisis that hit Wall Street and consequently all of the markets, decided to propose another candidacy, asking to extend to the maximum of a fifteen-year limit provided for by the law. Currently, the law establishes a maximum limit of two mandates.

I newyorkesi vogliono Michael Bloomberg.
