America in Iraq: Regret After Basra’s Destruction
Do we really believe that there is a “popular movement” in America like that which many a freedom fighter has relied on in the past to liberate their peoples; a movement able to force the hand of those who gave the green light for the occupation of Iraq to one day take responsibility for this despicable war so that the Iraqis can decide their own fate, following a full withdrawal of the occupation force? With any luck this day will come before it is decided that the presence of “cafés for homosexuals” are as suitable for Iraq as the al-Zahawi Café* on al Rasheed street in Baghdad where the city’s intellectuals and innovators gather. Frankly, the answer to my question is no, because this could only happen through an uprising of the Iraqis that still believe in the true national spirit of the country, or as the “progressive nationalists” like to call it, “outdated nationalism.” This uprising will be able to force the occupiers to leave on Iraq’s terms and not through some “responsible” timetable for withdrawal, as Obama likes to call it! In truth, the “popular movement” in America is comprised of the same 50% of Americans who in a recent survey said they were ready to let a gay president lead the United States. Furthermore, they said that if no gays were candidates for the presidency, then they would have no problem with letting a homosexual occupy other top leadership positions in the country such as the secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, or head of the CIA.
Consider for me, if you will, that all these awful decisions, devoid of any semblance of ethical or religious values, have been made under the pretense of liberating the world from “terrorists” by the American intelligence apparatus, led by people that think themselves “peaceful,” and not homosexuals! Now imagine, what would it be like if homosexuals led these organizations? Remember what Bush did in Iraq and Afghanistan, keeping in mind that he wasn’t a homosexual (what half of Americans want), but rather he entered the White House saying that one must be Christian to get into heaven!
I think there are many Iraqis who still hold on to a small bit of national idealism and who don’t consider their cause to be just “outdated nationalism.” I was saddened when I read about the “Iraqi” Kanan Makiya who, as reported by the press, news organizations, and satellite networks, acknowledged his regret for telling the Americans that the Iraqis would greet them with open arms. Iraq today — post-liberation — has been transformed from the republic of fear during Saddam Hussein’s reign into a republic of theft in the era of political plurality; a republic known for fraud more than anything else. According to what one of our brother writers here in Iraq believes, this is what a certain politician with blood on his hands will eventually admit to — the consultant of the liberation himself, Kanan Makiya!
All good Iraqis are saddened when they read the memos and declarations of the “progressive nationalists,” wherein they admit that they didn’t think that America the “liberator” would treat a “vulnerable” nation in this manner! They admit their regret for inheriting their modern culture and knowledge from America, and they admit their regret that they allowed themselves to be raised in the shadow of America’s concrete civilization, built upon the corpses of the so-called “savage” Native Americans by thieves and scoundrels fleeing from Europe. Yes, these Iraqis feel regret because they have been put in an awful situation that they weren’t expecting. They couldn’t imagine that the Americans — whose first step in Iraq was to establish their administration on the skeletons of the dead — would hold themselves to no ethical values… yet is it plausible to believe that they thought that America’s leaders would build a new Iraq with the wants and desires of its citizens in mind? That they would give the Iraqis a nation returned to its historical days of glory and civilization? And do we really believe they were surprised when they realized that they had handed this wounded nation over to those who would rebuild it as a republic of fraud? Do we believe that they are comforted when they hear that instead of getting a new city of Babel, we now have some among us those that support America, that are building cafés for homosexuals? Were they pleased when their fellow Iraqis who condemned these cafés were accused with lightning speed of social retardation by so-called defenders of freedom of choice? Is it true that these “nationalist” consultants to the Americans were taken aback by America’s silence on this issue, or at the very least by America’s inability to do anything about it? Regardless, none of this makes any difference because the American administration that turned Iraq into this post-“liberation” republic of fraud had only one real goal in mind, which they still pursue: the never-ending plunder of Iraq, which has led to to the utter destruction of Basra after their sabotage of the people’s minds there.
