The image of Barack Obama and the Democrats has been damaged by their enemies, who claim that Obama's pacifist spirit makes him appear weak and that his social ideology is too left-wing, and also by a clever campaign about who is responsible for slowing down immigration reform, among other factors.

There is no doubt that the Republicans have succeeded in winning the U.S. Senate back in the latest midterm elections. Some would call it “democracy,” but the truth is that the Republicans used a well-planned strategy. They did not let Obama govern, who is regarded as too weak because of his moderation and diplomacy.

Trickery and lying are common in politics and so are despising citizens and ignoring the common good. This is the sad truth. Politics is not about improving citizen's welfare, but taking over the government and benefiting economic interests. By not voting, many citizens let the dishonest keep ruling the nation.

As for Hispanic people, they turned their back on he who had promised them immigration reform. They have lost hope.

Furthermore, this election has reflected the dark side of the American essence. Firstly, there are still some racists, who are not going to let Obama successfully end his term. Frankly, Obama has been weak and undecided, maybe because he is afraid of making mistakes. This was a historic chance for the African American community.

Secondly, the U.S. is a warmongering and conservative country that really wants to hold geopolitical power. Oil crime syndicates and the pharmaceutical industry are behind the scenes, promoting and funding military conflicts.

There were two options to defeat Obama: kill him either physically or politically. The former would have empowered the Democrats. The latter was easy; his enemies managed to make this election a referendum on Obama. In addition, I am sure that the votes obtained by the Republicans were not intended to disapprove of Congress’ government.

While feigning ignorance, the Republicans got rid of the most radical members of their own political party. At the same time, they attacked Obama by spreading rumors about his alleged undercover left-wing ideology. To scare citizens, the Republicans even claimed that he was hiding the fact that he is a fervent Islamist. While feigning ignorance, they were working to win the election.

Sad and disappointed, Obama said he understood the people’s message. However, he does not want to believe they voted against him. He thinks that the American people disapproved of Congress’ manner of governing.

The Republicans need to make a big effort to take the White House back. There is no doubt that they are going to use the immigration reform card. Nevertheless, Obama may approve a law which would make him regain some of his credibility.

Su espíritu pacifista que lo muestra débil, su sentido social que lo marca como izquierdista y una campaña astuta sobre quién es responsable por la lentitud en hacer la reforma migratoria, son algunos de los factores que usaron sus enemigos para desmoronar la imagen de Barack Obama y la de los demócratas.

Sin lugar a dudas los republicanos lograron el plan recuperando el control del Senado de los Estados Unidos en las recientes elecciones de mitad de mandato. Es la democracia, dirán algunos, pero detrás se esconde una estrategia bien concebida, la cual no ha dejado gobernar a Obama, aunado por su excesiva mesura y diplomacia, lo que ve la gente como pulso débil.

La trampa y la mentira es parte de la política y despreciar al pueblo e ignorar el bien común, lamentablemente también lo es. No se trata de mejorar la vida de los ciudadanos, sino de retomar el poder para beneficiar intereses económicos. Muchos prefirieron no votar, permitiendo que esas fuerzas sigan controlando la nación.

La desesperanza ganó en el caso del voto hispano que, prácticamente, le dio la espalda a quien apoyó antes esperando una reforma migratoria.

Por otra parte, en estas elecciones salieron a relucir aspectos oscuros de la esencia estadounidense. El primero es que todavía ronda el fantasma del racismo y quienes lo sienten harán todo lo posible por no dejar terminar airoso el mandado a Obama. Por su parte, francamente él ha sido débil y temeroso, quizás por el miedo a equivocarse. Esta era una oportunidad histórica para la comunidad afroamericana.

El segundo aspecto oscuro es que los Estados Unidos es un país guerrerista y conservador, donde se ambiciona mantener el poder geopolítico. Tras bambalinas están las mafias petroleras y los laboratorios farmacéuticos azuzando y hasta financiando conflictos.

A Obama tenían dos maneras de eliminarlo: matándolo físicamente o haciéndolo políticamente. La primera hubiese fortalecido a los demócratas. La segunda fue la más fácil: sus enemigos lograron hacerle con la democracia un referéndum. Por otra parte, tengo la certeza que los votos que obtuvieron los republicanos no son de aprobación a la gestión en el Congreso.

Haciéndose los gringos, como se dice coloquialmente cuando se simula estar confundido sin estarlo, por el contrario, hay astucia escondida, los republicanos purgaron de radicales su propio partido; asimismo usaron la estrategia de vilipendiar a Obama, asustando a la gente al difundir rumores sobre supuestas doctrinas de izquierda encubiertas y hasta llegaron a decir que tal vez escondía un fervor musulmán. Haciéndose los gringos, fueron allanando el camino para recuperar el poder.

Cabizbajo y decepcionado, Obama dijo entender el mensaje del pueblo, pero se niega a creer que el voto fue en contra de su gestión y, por el contrario, piensa que es un mensaje para que el congreso funcione.

Los republicanos todavía tienen que hacer un gran esfuerzo para volver a la Casa Blanca y sin lugar a dudas, la reforma migratoria pudiese ser una de sus cartas en el juego, aunque Obama, en desquite, se les podría adelantar con una ley ejecutiva y así recuperaría un poco su credibilidad.
