The Liberty Times Editorial: US Relations Require Give and Take

[A] battle to the death is in neither side’s interest.

[C]ivil war-like conditions are prevailing in America’s second-largest metropolis.

Unless the country ... takes a resolute stand against Trump now, there may not be another democratically elected president in three and a half years.

[P]eople did not expect this when they voted for Trump even though he repeatedly promised he would do so.

Despite appearances, these are not purely trade talks.

[T]he persistence of Trump’s authoritarian conduct in his many actions as head of state ... should raise all the red flags.

We can only hope that people in the United States will not be blinded by the game of chess between red and blue.

The situation gives new substance to concerns about authoritarianism and xenophobia.
