US State Department Report Is Another Conspiratorial Step

The U.S. State Department recently released its annual report on international human rights violations. This year’s report confirms for the millionth time that the United States in general, and the Trump administration in particular, are the first in line for violating human rights. This is especially true when it comes to the human rights of Palestinians even though these rights are internationally recognized and guaranteed by United Nations resolutions.

The U.S. is protecting the occupying country and preventing the passage of any international resolutions against human rights violations in the occupied Palestinian territory. These violations have risen to the level of war crimes punishable under international law in the International Criminal Court at the Hague. On one level, such violations include the killing of Palestinians, the most recent of which happened yesterday when a child from the Gaza Strip was killed during a peaceful March of Return. On another level, these violations include settlements, land confiscation, destruction of homes and so forth. These violations are a disgrace to humanity. The American protection of the occupying country per se is not only a violation of Palestinian human rights, but the U.S. is also a partner in the occupying country’s violations, which should require that the U.S. appear before the International Criminal Court.

In its report, the U.S. State Department removed the adjective “occupied lands” from its descriptions of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. This most recent violation contravenes the human rights of Palestinians. Moreover, it also goes against U.N. resolutions recognizing the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, East Jerusalem and the Syrian Golan Heights as occupied Palestinian territories.

Erasing the term “occupied” from these occupied lands is a desperate American attempt to beautify the ugly face of occupation. The rest of the world is getting fed up with these practices and violations of Palestinian human rights under occupation. Most international authorities have called for the condemnation of the occupier’s crimes, especially those that have been committed in the Gaza Strip, such as the incident in which the occupying country used American weapons to kill children and young people – our youth! – who were protesting peacefully in the March of Return.

This report complements other steps taken by the Trump administration to erase our people’s national rights. Further, the report falsifies facts and defends the hideous Israeli occupation, especially when it describes Israeli violations as mere allegations made by Palestinians. The U.S. reveals the full extent of its hostility toward our people and our issues on a daily basis. It thinks that by virtue of its coordination with the Israeli occupation, the U.S. can also erase our people and their national rights. The U.S. is delusional. It doesn’t know anything about our people who have foiled every other conspiracy that targeted our national cause.

Our people have made enormous sacrifices following Trump’s announcement that Jerusalem is the capital of the occupying country. Our people will foil this 'erasure' conspiracy. The Marches of Return in the Gaza Strip and the weekly marches in the West Bank are the greatest proof that our people are alive and will not let any 'erasure' conspiracy prevail over our national cause.

The U.S. defiantly and falsely claims that it defends human rights. Now it is up to the U.S. to review this nihilistic policy which will come back to haunt both America and the occupying country.

All that remains to be said about the U.S. is that this fallacy-filled and fact-falsifying American report is another step in furthering a conspiracy with its partner, the occupying country. It is necessary to end the dark division of Palestinians, which is the principal factor that motivates the Trump administration and the Israeli occupiers to act this way. They think that by keeping Palestinians divided, they will be able to facilitate this 'erasure' conspiracy.
