Sanchez: Is the US a Necessary Accomplice to ‘Genocide’ in Gaza?

His attack on Israel coincided with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s visit to Jerusalem to personally express U.S. support for Benjamin Netanyahu.

From The New York Times to the Parisian Fígaro, and across all TV networks, the events of the Vuelta a España*, cheered on and admired by none other than the prime minister, are attracting significant news coverage and causing serious damage to Spain’s reputation internationally, particularly in the West. “A picture is worth more than a thousand words” and TV was a faithful witness to what happened on Sunday in Madrid, allowing us to form a personal opinion about these protests that Pedro Sánchez considers so admirable and peaceful.

Admittedly, there are countless reasons why some people believe that Sánchez is encouraging this strategy for two entirely self-interested purposes. One, to divert attention away from the corruption cases surrounding him with respect to his personal, family and political life; the other, his blatant inability to govern, having lacked a budget for the last three fiscal years, and being unable to legislate, something he declared months ago before the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party Federal Committee, stating he was willing to continue with or without the support of the legislature. This demonstrates his idea of a parliamentarian democracy.

After seeing the results of this strategy, I think perhaps the popular maxim “the cure is worse than the disease” applies, since his attack against Israel coincided with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s visit to Jerusalem to personally express U.S. support for Benjamin Netanyahu. So, the repeated accusation of genocide against the Israeli government would implicate Donald Trump himself of being an accomplice to genocide, which gives you an idea of the absolute political drift toward which Sanchezism is leading Spain. Until recently, the current occupant of La Moncloa** aspired to become a global political leader after leaving. He thought his command of English and his policy in Spain would elevate him to some important position in the United Nations, the EU or even in NATO. And theoretically, his position as president of the Socialist International since November 2022 was going to be the final launchpad to achieve this.

Although his party insists on classifying him as the global leader of social democracy, the truth is any resemblance between [Sánchez] and other prominent leaders in that political sphere, such as his predecessors, proves his current lack of leadership in a western world that has turned toward the right at the same rate that he has turned to the left, positioning himself as an ally of communism. Spain is in an agonizing situation that can’t last much longer.
