And What about Israel’s Violations?!
The United States is making the final preparations for the command (or coordination) center it established in Israel following the Gaza agreement. The center was inaugurated by the U.S. vice president during his "controversial" visit to Israel last week. A diplomat with expertise in the region was appointed to oversee the civilian side, while a general had previously been appointed to lead the military side, along with 200 U.S. officers and soldiers. Work began immediately to monitor the situation in Gaza, and surveillance drones were ultimately deployed to detect any violations of the agreement.
This means Washington has a complete picture of any violations committed by any party. It recognizes the scale of difficulties the resistance factions are facing in searching for the remaining bodies of Israeli captives under the rubble left by the occupation's bombs during its war of extermination. Furthermore, it is undoubtedly recording the Israeli violations that have led to nearly 100 martyrs and more than 300 injured since the ceasefire — most of whom are, "as usual," children and women. These are continuous attempts to undermine the agreement or disrupt the transition to the next stages.
Yesterday, U.S. President Donald Trump again emphasized the necessity of dealing "justly and fairly" with all parties while adhering to the agreement. This requires compelling Israel to implement the agreement's provisions, which stipulate the entry of at least 600 aid trucks daily and the opening of crossings, along with full respect for the ceasefire. The international community, which endorsed the agreement and sought to end the war, may have the right to see a documented report from the American coordination or command center in Israel concerning the violations that have occurred and who is responsible for them. This would be pending the deployment of an international peacekeeping and surveillance force by a U.N. Security Council decision and, under its supervision, ensuring compliance with its resolutions.
It is crucial to note that what is happening in Gaza can never be separated from what is happening in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem. I believe the recent crisis has proven this beyond any doubt to the U.S. administration, which realized that Benjamin Netanyahu's use of the West Bank annexation card is an essential part of his war to thwart the Gaza agreement and block the path to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state. However, this does not mean that Israel will stop its plans, nor does it eliminate the necessity for a decisive American stance that ends the rampage of settlement expansion in the West Bank — a stance that recognizes that Gaza will never cease to be a cherished part, alongside the West Bank and Jerusalem, of a unified and independent Palestinian state. The path to this may still be difficult, but it is imperative!
