Between the Ukrainian and Iranian Traps
I said: The comparison is difficult because each case has its own circumstances. But the comparison becomes possible if the same reasons and conditions are present for Iran as they were for Ukraine.
They said: What are these reasons and conditions?!
I said: Let us go back in memory. I believe, if I am not mistaken, that the war on Ukraine was a meticulously planned trap, a conspiracy by the U.S. to drag the rising Russia, which was dominant in Europe, into a quagmire of wars and crises. Unfortunately, the conspiracy succeeded, and the Russian bear fell into the Ukrainian trap, which had no real grounds other than to weaken Russia and turn it into a pariah state in Europe. This was after Russia had almost taken control over the economy in Europe, especially in the energy and gas sectors.
At this point, the U.S., under former President Joe Biden’s administration, orchestrated a plot to weaken the rising Russian bear, just as it did under the George H.W. Bush administration with the Soviet Union, successfully dismantling it. Now, it has again in plunging Russia into the cursed hell of Ukraine. Consequently, the U.S. has emerged as both a supporter and defender of Ukraine, while simultaneously fanning the flames of fear and hatred toward Russia.
The U.S., under the Biden administration, provided Ukraine with everything it needed to withstand the Russian bear, revitalized NATO and herded Europe back into its pen.
After Biden, Donald Trump took office and made his own mark. He insisted that Europe must pay the full costs and that U.S. support must come at a price — whether through Ukraine’s precious rare earth minerals or European money. In any case, U.S. support for Ukraine has continued in full until now. At the same time, the U.S. has continued to incite Europe and the world to boycott Russian energy sources of oil and gas. And after all that, it is not bad at all to tease the Russian bear with words and statements in order to neutralize it. Meanwhile, the U.S. continues to pursue new adventures in the Trumpian era, considering Trump's colonial whims in Venezuela and Iran, along with whatever future aspirations may arise in his mind.
In short, the U.S. and Europe have provided, and continue to provide, massive military and economic aid to Ukraine, supplying it with what it needs to compensate for its military and human losses. This has turned Ukraine into a true trap for the Russian bear.
They said: That is about Ukraine. But what about Iran? Could Iran turn into a trap for the U.S.?
I said: That is the problem. There must be real Russian-Chinese cooperation to strongly and directly support Iran, just as Europe and the U.S. are doing with Ukraine.
Unfortunately, Russia and China have so far limited themselves to issuing statements of condemnation and denunciation, offering no genuine support despite their strategic partnership agreements. This has led Trump to merely court Russia over Ukraine and China over Taiwan, while they remain content with this approach, providing no strong or effective support that could make a difference and help Iran withstand the onslaught.
If Russia and China were to provide Iran with military, intelligence and technological support, along with the necessary military equipment, particularly in the fields of air defense, aviation, electronics and drones, thus compensating for the shortages incurred during the conflict, then Iran would undoubtedly turn into a dangerous trap for the U.S. This would drain U.S. resources and force it to end the fight as quickly as possible.
The problem is that Russia and China are largely absent from the scene, despite Iran's strategic importance to them economically, militarily and regionally. Therefore, it will be difficult for Iran to withstand the ongoing U.S.-Israeli assaults in the coming period, especially if the war goes on any longer.
