Do Trump and Netanyahu Really Know What They Are Doing?

The longer the war goes on, the more likely it is that the weak will be blamed once again.

Hundreds of deaths, many billions in war costs, and a new shock to the global economy, the repercussions of which no one can predict. People are willing to endure it if it serves a legitimate goal. If they feel that the people commanding the war also know what they are doing.

In this case, however, the war was launched by a U.S. president who is considered unpredictable, not only by his opponents, and an Israeli prime minister who often enough has demonstrated that his political survival is more important than the well-being of the people in his country.

Vague Answers

Where is all this heading? What is the exit strategy? The answers to these questions are vague. Israel's army says it is to avert a serious threat to Israel. Benjamin Netanyahu says it is about the people of Iran.

Donald Trump says it is the starting point of a revolt; the Iranians must take the first steps themselves. Inside Iran, many are celebrating the death of Ali Khamenei, who has the blood of tens of thousands of people on his hands. But was the war needed to achieve that?

The longer the war goes on, the more people in Europe will feel the consequences. Some of them will once again blame the weak. And these people will support the political powers that will again create facts on the ground through extreme measures — with no explanation of where that will lead.

Hunderte Tote. Viele Milliarden an Kriegskosten.

Vage Antworten
