If you Google “US”+”War”+”Iran”+”Reports” you should get over three million hits, articles and reports warning of imminent US attack on Iran, including Iranian nuclear facilities. This is the first time that a nuclear facility will be bombed and there is a strong indication that the US will use depleted uranium tipped bunker busters or even a small megaton nuclear weapon. This will be yet another war by a group of criminals running the Government of the United States.

In response to President Bush’s ‘all options are on the table’, a group of thirteen top physicists, including five Nobel laureates, in the United States had warned Bush not to use nuclear weapon (April 2006). The letter was authored by: Philip Anderson, Nobel Laureate ; Michael Fisher, Wolf Laureate ; David Gross, Nobel Laureate ; Jorge Hirsch, Professor of Physics ; Leo Kadanoff, National Medal of Science ; Walter Kohn, Nobel Laureate ; Joel Lebowitz, Boltzmann Medalist ; Anthony Leggett, Nobel Laureate ; Eugen Merzbacher, President, American Physical Society, 1990 ; Douglas Osheroff, Nobel Laureate ; Andrew Sessler, President, American Physical Society, 1998 ; George Trilling, President, American Physical Society, 2001 ; Frank Wilczek, Nobel Laureate ; Edward Witten, Fields Medalist

The Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) had warned that, should the USA use nuclear weapons in Iran, of say 1 megaton yield, it would kill 3 million people in Iran and another 35 million will die of radiation fallout in Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. Hot, dry air, blowing from arid-plains of Iran, Afghanistan will carry radioactive dust into the Indian sub-continent, and blow right across the northern Gangetic plains. It is important that readers watch the animation carefully, copy it and circulate to as many friends as they can. The animation is here:

What is unprecedented here is that a group of scientists has come out against present administration’s policy of (a) using nuclear weapons, (b) using the weapons preemptively, i.e. without any overt or covert threat of aggression, and (c) against nations that are defenseless against the aggression of the United States of America. Use of bunker buster bombs to destroy nuclear facilities will render large parts of Iran uninhabitable for millions of years. Readers should note that scientists have estimated that the area around Chernobyl would remain uninhabitable for at least 600 years.

Failure of mainstream media

The mainstream media, globally, has failed to forewarn the people of the dangers inherent in such illegal and irresponsible act of the present US administration. Viewed in this context of silence of mass media, the actions of the group physicists and the UCS in taking the extraordinary step of directly communicating with the people and with the administration is not merely commendable, it is an indictment of the role mainstream media.

The mainstream media in India, both print and electronic, are completely silent on an impending holocaust that will affect their employees, staffers and reporters as well. By keeping silent, they will be exposing millions of Indians living in western and northern parts of India to radiation fallout and slow painful deaths. This is the ultimate criminal act on part of our mainstream media.

I have been consistently warning of this absolutely illegal, immoral and criminal act of the present US administration. The key people responsible for this would be Bush, Cheney, Rice, the Defense Secretary and all senior commanders involved in planning this war.

Impact on the Indian people

Since the US started its unprovoked aggressions in West-Asia, post 9/11, depleted uranium carried by these winds has already contaminated vast regions of Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. Over 500 million people in India have already been exposed to depleted uranium aerosolized particle. The war on Iran will douse us with another huge dose of radioactive contamination including chemical and biological contaminants if the US bombs the Iranian stockpile.

This amounts to two nuclear attacks on Indian people by an elected US government in less than five years. The third one is not far behind.

Those of you who wish to know of the pain and suffering that nuclear weapons and radiation contamination can cause don’t forget to view

Iran will retaliate; it is far more powerful and better equipped than Iraq. It may even close the straits of Hormuz through which much of India’s oil supplies pass. It’d mean unprecedented oil price increase, perhaps three to four times the current prices, non-availability of oil, may be even rationing of oil. That would also impact the prices of all goods, including food and essential drugs.

I appeal all readers to spread the information and take appropriate steps immediately as the actual bombing starts in Iran. It is no more a question of ‘IF; it is merely ‘WHEN.’ Inform every one, here and abroad.
