The statements of presidential nominee John McCain before and during his visit to Israel, in which he supported military operations against the Gaza Strip and for Jerusalem to be Israel’s capital, show that his visit to the region aims to win the friendship of Israeli and its effective American lobby as well as to confirm that he will continue the current American administration’s effort of blind bias towards this rapacious entity and its hostile acts for electoral victory.
McCain, who brought his campaign to Iraq and occupied Palestine in a unprecedented step in the history of American elections, and his reliance upon foreign agents to buttress his electoral fortunes, has revealed his extremism and his outbidding of even the Israelis in supporting their illegal demands at the expense of the Palestinian people’s rights. His belief is that he who wants to win the election must place a yamaka upon his head and gain the Israeli favor by submitting to their robbery. This only shows how far he has sunk politically through his support of Israeli-sponsored terrorism.
America’s position, as well as some European countries, is to side with Israel’s need for security and illegal demands, while deliberately ignoring the rights of millions of Palestinian refugees as well as Israeli’s international law violations through continued settlements, violations of the freedom to worship and of holy places, and massacres of defenseless women, children, and the elderly. This confirms the extent of the scorn for Arab causes while giving a green light to the occupying government to fixate upon occupation, terrorism and the rejection of just and complete peace requirements.
The designs and aggressive positions which work to divvy up the region and target Arab rights, while giving no heed to Arabs and their causes, require the Arab Presidents, kings and leaders who will attend the Damascus summit to take an effective and united stance. They possess the ability to confront the dangers staring the Arab Nation (Umma) in the face which, no matter what their origin, require following the Arab public opinion and reconsidering the Arabs and their just causes.
