A Type of Evil We Have Never Seen Before

The decision to not release Jonathan Pollard for his father’s funeral can have just one explanation. It is insensitivity in the most extreme sense, which doubtfully ever existed during past presidents’ days in office.

President Obama is perceived by the public, and of course by the media, as a president for which human rights are a guiding light. He is a leader who sees the weak before his eyes and, as such, is very careful about the fundamental rights of every human being and the values of humanity.

They have been marketing the president in this light from the very beginning. They insist on showing him in this light presently as well. It’s probably safe to assume that the Pollard family sees things a bit differently. In fact, every Jew throughout the entire world must see the man that sits in the White House as one in breach of every fundamental value of human compassion.

What exactly did the Pollard family ask of the president anyway? They asked for an hour and a half to walk alongside his late father while he was laid to rest. Even a couple hours alone to eat the customary meal of mourners for his father, Maurice, couldn’t have been too much to ask for. There was no request to upgrade the appalling prison conditions which he “enjoyed.” They didn’t even ask for permission to increase the amount of guests who may visit him periodically. They asked only that he should be with his father in his last hours and be able to accompany him on his last journey.

President Obama’s answer in both cases was blatant disrespect and disregard. No one in the White House even bothered to release an official statement on the matter or some type of explanation. Maybe a stammered apology? Nothing. According to them, they don’t have the slightest reference to the Jew they so love to torment.

Pollard Is at the Bottom of the Ladder

What exactly was the White House afraid of? Did they have some type of practical consideration that played a part in their stubborn and wicked refusal? Any security concerns that might have existed to block his release are certainly unfounded, if we are talking about a couple hours to attend a funeral.

There is only one explanation for the decision: extreme insensitivity, which doubtfully existed with past presidents when they refused requests to release Pollard.

Apparently from Obama’s point of view, Pollard is at the bottom of the ladder. It’s a fact that even al-Qaida terrorists being held at Guantanamo Bay received recognition by the president when he declared his intentions to close the facility and move the prisoners to a facility on U.S. soil.

Pollard, who spends most of his time hooked up to machines (due to his bad medical condition), couldn’t interest the president in the least bit. It’s the same president who, for the past three months, has ignored the mass murder that takes place on a daily basis throughout Syria. It’s the same president who didn’t bother to even protest figuratively, following suit with the American ambassador in Syria (who these days is still in Damascus), while tens of thousands of Syrian civilians fled for their lives toward Turkey. So why go out of his way for Jonathan Pollard, who is just one man?

One last word, this time on American Jews. Their embarrassing silence amid the American abuse of Pollard will not be forgotten in the future. If there is one group that can move and shake the American president, it’s them. Real threats to cease contributions to Obama’s presidential campaign, as well as converting the traditional support from the Democratic candidate to the Republican side, can change the evil decree. It seems that at least currently, for some of them, the U.S. passport is more important than the Jewish soul. They should be ashamed.
