For the Safety of This Nation, We Have to Get Ourselves Away from the U.S.

America has never been a loyal friend to any country, yet it accuses us of disloyalty. It calls us incompetent, though it itself is treacherous, corrupt and dishonest. After 9/11, America claimed that Pakistan was on the front line in fighting terrorism with America. All it really had eyes on was its own interests, not its allies’. America wanted Pakistan to become enemies with all the countries that disliked America. Because Musharraf was afraid of America, he sacrificed his own country’s interests.

But when the new Pakistani government arrived, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani came forth with two resolutions: The Pakistani army would protect the Pakistani people, and the Pakistanis would demand favors from America in return for their participation in the war on terror. The army and ISI had realized, at that point, that American policies in Pakistan were not benefiting the Pakistanis in any way. The Pakistani public and opposition parties were standing by the army, so the Pakistani government had to listen to the army’s demands.

Now our government and army is telling America that we will not do things that only benefit America; we will look at what is good for us as well. The Americans were infuriated when they heard about our shift in policy and, since then, Washington has been pressuring us. It was unrealistic for Pakistanis to lead their lives according to the Americans’ commands, so we had to tell them to treat us as their equal.

There is no doubt about the fact that America has had eyes on our nuclear program for several years. It wants to deprive us of our nuclear weapons, so that we become entirely dependent on Delhi, Kabul and Washington for our survival. For this purpose, America sent its spies here and “bought” some of our own people; it wanted to get its hands on our nuclear weapons. But the ISI and our army did not let this happen. The ISI and the army came to the important realization that we must keep the Americans away from our nuclear program, which is the source of much of our strength and vitality as a nation.

Since the change in the ISI and Pakistani army’s attitudes, America has been busy spreading its campaign of propaganda against us, accusing us of numerous crimes. When they realized the futility of their initial plan, they turned to Mike Mullen for help. They are correct in their assumptions that the Pakistani army and public are very suspicious of them. We are asking ourselves, what is there for us in all this? I, on behalf of the Pakistani pubic, have the following message for our army: If you free us from American bondage, we will be eternally grateful to you, cherish you always and even consider you our messiah.
