The South China Sea Has Become a Restless Disaster

The South China Sea has become a restless disaster. Vietnam and the Philippines cause trouble and the U.S. meddles.

The Xisha Islands, Nansha Islands and Dongsha Islands have recently, because of Vietnam and the Philippines, become a merciless “nightmare.” They attempt to make them as their own. They are a very coveted heart of the two small countries. They have already embarked on the road of bandits. It is a blatant violation of Chinese sovereignty and territory. Naturally it is difficult to succeed. It is natural to pay an extensive price.

The boiling and self-satisfied Huangyan Island confrontation has been handily cooked up from the Philippine side. We have not only been ineffective to quell the issue but have also exposed that the Philippine side’s infringement ambitions do not die. Regarding Vietnam, something smells fishy. Like the Philippine side, it stems from a “seize the island, grab the sea” mentality.

On June 21, the Vietnamese National Assembly voted to adopt a so-called “Vietnam Law of the Sea”. It advanced the provisions of Vietnam’s territorial sea baseline, inland sea, territorial sea, contiguous zone, exclusive economic zone, continental shelf, islands, etc. Among them, they went so far as to include, are China’s Xisha and Nansha Islands. It really is a deficiency of the will of the people. It has the form of being swallowed by a snake. It’s laughable; I don’t know how to estimate its strength.

More inconceivable is that Vietnam recently, in the Nanwei island of China’s Nansha Islands, used a piece of pottery to build a side of a huge Vietnamese flag. After the building of the flag was completed, all of the Vietnamese parties stationed at the Nansha Islands also held a grand dedication ceremony. This is a flagrant violation arriving at the point of madness.

This is a curious coincidence. Vietnam has shown a desire through legislative channels and the laying of a huge national flag to muddy the South China Sea. It puts pressure on and invades China. This of course is wishful thinking by Vietnam. If the invaders are interested in such a game — bent on having their own way — then I don’t know who to blame or where to find fault. However, coincidentally, the Philippines show the same arrogance. From the president to the minister and from the minister to the mayor, some politicians also do their titles. It not only depends upon whether the Huangyan Island does or does not go, but also black hands stretched toward Zhongye Island. It is a violation, an open misdeed.

Kalayaan City Mayor Eugenio Bito-onon (in the Philippines’ Palawan Province) has already built a small nursery in Pajia-Sa Island in the Nansha Islands, also called China’s Zhongye Island. June 15 marks the inauguration of the nursery. As they inserted the Philippine national flag, the Philippine army came forward. They said they were defending the nursery. This occupation method by the Philippine army is very clumsy and inferior. They largely use children as “hostages” — as “human shields,” it is suggested. This practice of the Philippine side has become damaging.

Vietnam and the Philippines’ staged violation is a shameful “two-person show” drama. The situation in the South China Sea is increasingly tense. They trampled on peaceful development. They are directed against a monkey climbing a resembling-a-pole performance. China is not without force to fight back. It basically sees maintaining the overall situation of peaceful development in the South China Sea as the most important. They advocated a diplomatic solution to the South China Sea dispute be suspended.

Unfortunately, Vietnam and the Philippines have grabbed the nose on their face. They have disregarded peaceful development. They stubbornly adhere to the position of infringement. Moreover, they are unscrupulous to the extent of being intolerable. Nevertheless, China did not use its military to counter. As in the 1974 Xisha naval battle, we recaptured the Paracel Islands and placed them under the jurisdiction of Hainan. However, Vietnam and the Philippines have not received the message. They continue to do evil.

It can be said that the Chinese are not afraid to fight. They also have the strength of the gun cannons. Faced with the reality of the violation of our sovereignty and territory being stricken, China should snarl and shoot a gun to keep the territory. This is also a reasonable thing. Acting as advocates of peaceful development in China, we will eventually take the opportunity to leave behind a bad attitude and approach. We need to patiently wake the neighboring countries and not act rashly. Do not again and again and again trouble the South China Sea. Quit the occupation of the island. This would be much better than the launching of a maritime battle.

In this case, China cannot remain indifferent. But according to the law to strengthen the management and construction of the South China Sea, to fully exercise its own sovereignty, China cannot lose a fraction of an inch of its territorial waters. For example: the establishment of level three Shashi, the empowerment of the good management, building and care of the Xisha, Nansha and Dongsha Islands.

Correspondingly, there is also the action of the China National Offshore Oil Corporation. The company recently announced the opening of nine offshore blocks in the South China Sea region to supply the joint exploration and development of foreign companies. China has jurisdiction over the duties of Hainan. They also announced that four areas of the Xisha Islands are designated as protected areas of cultural heritage.

These are generally being viewed by China as strengthening the maintenance of sovereignty over the South China Sea region. To promote the peaceful development of “combined operations” is another declaration of China’s sovereignty over the South China Sea. From another perspective, the Chinese government, with regard to the violations, wild schemes and behavior of Vietnam and the Philippines, needs to keep a look out. It once again hits and causes pain.

The facts show that China has maintained a great deal of rational restraint. We are faced with Vietnam and the Philippines frequently taking unilateral, illegal and invalid actions. While strength is kept under control but there is rage, we need to maintain the peaceful development of the South China Sea. The facts also show that China has the ability, in a short period of time, to change the geopolitical situation in the South China Sea.

However, Vietnam and the Philippines are ready to make trouble and do criminal acts. They are hooked on the U.S.’ staring, evil eyes. They begin to tear the mask off of “do not choose sides.” They are exposed to meddling truth. On June 30, a report on the Internet said, highlighting influence and military existence, that the United States recently has gradually strengthened its relations with its former enemies in Vietnam. On the point of seeking foreign interference, the United States has continued its wide outside attention on the South China Sea issue to provoke incidents in order to pursue its own interests.

U.S. lawmakers ignore the facts and regulations. They claim that the China National Offshore Oil Corporation intends to open nine offshore blocks in the South China Sea for exploration and development in cooperation with foreign companies. They invite bids to develop the sea belonging to the territory of Vietnam. U.S. representatives recklessly use the right to speak. This undermines China’s sovereignty over the South China Sea. Quite a lot of harm is caused.

On June 28 in Washington, U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee member Joe Lieberman made a vocal error and also jeopardized the situation very repeatedly. China’s actions were “baseless and unprecedented,” Lieberman said, with apparent seriousness. The misleading of these Americans quickly indicated that Vietnam is highly valued. They are more emboldened.

Vietnam claimed that the China National Offshore Oil Corporation is inviting foreign bids for geographic blocks in Vietnamese waters. They are urging foreign companies not to participate in the nine blocks of cooperative development invitation bids. It really is a dogfight of human influence. Some time ago, Vietnam was the U.S.’ attack zone. With this return again comes a ghost. Of course, these incite the fact that the South China Sea does not belong to China.

The China National Offshore Oil Corporation intends to engage in bidding in the South China Sea opening nine offshore blocks. It is totally normal business behavior. There is compliance with the relevant Chinese law and international practice. The United States took the opportunity to intervene. The South China Sea issue is complicated. It is undoubtedly the tiger being restless. There is undoubtedly an interference with the exercise of Chinese sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The South China Sea is not at peace. 100 percent of the disaster is caused by an infringement of Vietnam and the Philippines. There is also still the U.S.’ disorderly meddling. We must once again sternly declare the Chinese government’s position on the South China Sea “does not change.” The Chinese government’s position is consistent and firm: Strengthen the patrol and defense; guard and protect the South China Sea. China certainly will be victorious!
